Model: Tapo C225
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.7

Hello,

I bought recently a Tapo C225 V2 camera in Amazon France and i actually use Samsung Smartthings with an Aeotec hub for my connected home. I heard in January 2024 that Samsung and TP-Link made a partnership in order to fully integrate Tapo devices in Smartthings with the Work With Smartthings program (https://www.tapo.com/us/news/395/). They announced that the first compatible devices will be the Tapo C225 and SS75 cameras, but my C225 is not fully integrated like they explained 7 month ago. I can see only the live stream in my Smartthings app, whereas i wand to fully control it (rotate the camera, speak etc...) and make my C225 interact with other sensors in Smartthings by use the surveillance points (like rotate the camera to a specific sensor if this sensor detect something).

I should do something special like download a driver for my hub, update my camera etc... ? The WWTS program is planned for later this year ? Can you explain to me what should i do ?

Thanks for your help ! :)

  @Heleziel

Hi,
Thank you for reaching out and providing your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

Currently, the Tapo C225 does not supports additional SmartThings app integrations, however, our team is constantly working to improve our products, and we encourage you to pay attention to our official website to learn about the updates and feature enhancements on the Tapo C225.
Best Regards

Hi... same happened to me, i decided on tapo c225 because i was able to connect the tapo c100 on smartthings and get motion sensor for smart routines.

when i added the c225, it is detected as camera, but no motion sensor feature so i was not able to use it for my original intentions.

if the c100 is abe to be used as motion sensor on smarthings, i dont see why not the c225...   i guess a software update on the camera or in the app would fix it.

hope that c225 can be used on smart things as motion sensor would be a reality soon

  @Tengoku

Facing the same here. Funny thing my C200 has the motion detection "flag" somewhere,  but my C225 not.
