Note: We will gradually release the new firmware (1.4.0 Build 240606 Rel.64596n) for Tapo C210. If you have not detected the new firmware in the Tapo app, please be patient.

 

Firmware Modifications and Bug fixes:

1. Added support to fix a static IP address for the camera under Advanced Settings > Network Settings.
2. Added support for up to 30fps frame rates.
3. Added support for 10 levels of sensitivity settings of motion and person detection.
4. Added support for Camera Tampering detection.
5. Fixed the problem of no cloud videos in some cases.
6. Fixed some minor bugs.


Highlight Feature Introduce: 

This firmware supports the static IP feature, which can benefit scenarios that require the use of the camera's IP address, such as streaming the camera through RTSP protocol. The static IP feature improves the stability and reliability of the network.


To enable the Static IP address, please go to the camera's Device Settings>Advanced Settings>Network Settings page.


Note: Improper network parameters may cause your device to go offline or interfere with the normal operation of other devices on the same network. It's recommended to confirm your network parameters(such as subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server) before setting up the static IP.

Hi,
The official firmware is still rolling out gradually, if you want the Static IP address feature soon, please send me(@Solla-topee) your camera's MAC address via a private message, and we can push a beta firmware that supports this feature to your camera manually. 

Before the Upgrade:
(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the Pre-release firmware!
(2) How to update the firmware of the Tapo devices on the Tapo App

  @Solla-topee   This looks useful. I have installed PI Hole on my network but my C210 no longer works with the DHCP settings pointing the server to the pi for DNS resolution. Can I get the upgrade soon please as that will let me set the camera to 8.8.8.8 whilst the rest of the network usses the DHCP server setting.  Thanks

  @Solla-topee thank you. Not only has the update worked giving me access to manually change the DNS server. It had also resolved the underlying problem so now the camera is working even using my local DNS server .

Hello, I would also like to use version 1.4.0 on all my C210 cams. So far, only one camera has version 1.4.0. 

Is that possible if I send them the MAC of the cameras?

Hi,
The new firmware(v1.4.2) has been pushed to your camera, please make your camera online, and then try to update the firmware via the Tapo app.
It's recommended to remove the camera's MAC address from this thread.
