Tapo c520ws not returning to it's default position after motion tracking
Unfortunately both of my Tapo c520ws camera's do not return to its original position after motion tracking.
What I did to try to solve it:
- disabled motion tracking, reboot the camera, set the camera to the desired position, enabled motion tracking
- pan/tilt correction
- set detection zones, remove detection zones
- changed default position
What else can I do? Reading om the forum the problem occurs on almost all camera's.

Unfortunately the issue is not resolved. It is much improved, but still it does not always return to its original position.
In fact, in one day it first switched from its original position (below the red line) to another position which it seems to keep as its new original position. Later that day, it switched from that position to again another position.

Another user with the same problem here: the camera "new" default position has become the last position a detection was made, far away from the intended default position (an entrance door in my case). It's a pity for an otherwise excellent camera.

Hi,
You can try the following suggestions:
1. Update the Tapo app to the latest one.
2. Disable the Auto Tracking feature, pan & tilt the camera to the default position you want, and enable the Auto Tracking feature.
3. Go to the Smart Action > Automation page, and remove the entries that will pan & tilt the camera.
4. Test if the camera will work fine.

Following your suggestions:
1. Update the Tapo app to the latest one.
Was already up to date.
2. Disable the Auto Tracking feature, pan & tilt the camera to the default position you want, and enable the Auto Tracking feature.
Did all this.
3. Go to the Smart Action > Automation page, and remove the entries that will pan & tilt the camera.
I didn't set any pan & tilt entry in Automation.
4. Test if the camera will work fine.
At the end of the detection, I disabled the alarm and switched the camera to privacy mode: the camera didn't return to the default position. (By the way, when I switched the privacy mode off, the camera triggered the alarm even if Alarm was set to OFF.)
I don't know if it helps, but once when after the detection I set the alarm off, the camera briefly showed the red lamp, then started to blink green and orange and after a few seconds turned stable green, without me doing anything. (The Wi-Fi signal in my home is excellent.)
