Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am thinking about purchasing either the S200D or S200B to work my bulbs in the ceiling which are Tapo smart bulbs.

I am a bit confused about how to attach the S200D's wallplate to the wall if I don't want to use the adhesive stickers. The instructions imply that the original light switch should be removed but I don't want to do this as the wiring would need to be removed from the rocker switch and I may want to use the original switch if something happens to the connection. Can the S200D's wallplate be screwed directly onto the wall by drilling new holes? If so, then does the button just magnetically attach to the wallplate with the ability to remove it at any time or is it stuck to the wallplate like I saw in one particular video?

If I choose the S200B button and do decide to use the adhesive stickers, how is the button removed from the bracket in order to change the battery or reset the button? Does it easily twist off the bracket? I've seen videos where it looks like there are little lugs which need to be twisted.

This may all become obvious if I could see the product but unfortunately I am just going by the instructions so any help and advice would be useful.

S200D attaches to the wallplate via magnetic. The wallplate can be mounted either by using stickers or by using screws. The wall plate consists of two panels with a snap-fit structure. If you need to secure it with screws, the inner back panel has pre-drilled screw holes. Once you attach the back panel to the wall with screws, you can simply snap the outer shell of the wall plate into place.

Tapo S200B is also magnetic design. The included bracket, also known as the mounting plate, is actually a magnetic panel to which the S200B can attach. It is the mounting plate that needs to be fixed on the wall, either by a sticker or with screws, there won't be any issue when replacing the battery on the smart button itself.
