Hi

I have a few Tapo cameras around my apartment connected to the same wifi network.

i bought a C410 in Nov for outdoor use but have been having intermittent connection going offline seen on my Tether app. I have to reboot my router to get back connection on Tether. RSSI is good in the range of -30+ dBM. In fact the camera is within sight of the router only separated by a glass balcony door.

i have turned off DHCP and set 2.4GHz to 20MHz but issue still persists. I never have any connection issues on Tether with my other 2 Tapo cameras, and other 2.4GHz devices on the same wifi network.

i decided to do a ping with C410 and the other cameras but couldn't get any ping from C410 even though I have placed it beside the router. I had readings for the other Tapo cameras.

what can I do to solve the offline connection problem?

Hi,
You can refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot the reported issue.
What should I do if my Tapo smart device keeps losing connection or going Offline?

If the problem remains, please check the following information.
    1. The LED status on the camera when the problem occurs.
    2. Does it show offline status on the Tapo app when the problem occurs? Do you control the camera locally or remotely?
    3. What's the model number of your router?
    4. Please send me(@Solla-topee) the Tapo C410's MAC address via a private message.

Best Regards

Re:Tapo C410 camera connection issue
Monday

  @Solla-topee

Hello,

I have searched on google and this forum for additional details as I have the same issue with a Tapo C410 with solar panel and it got me to this page.

I have 2 x Tapo's C410 with solar panels and one of them is working flawless but the other one is driving me nuts.

I have upgrade my router and now I have a Asus RT-BE92U which has extended range and I also have a mesh system with 2 x ASUS ZenWiFi AX Hybrid XP4 (2-PK), AX1800 + AV1300.

I have tried to bind the camera to one of those AX Hybrid's which is like ~15m away from it. It works for about 2 days and the I need to restart the whole system to make it work again. I did a reset on the camera, reconnect and it does the same. Tried binding to the main router which is like ~30m, has 2 lines on connection, same thing, 2 days and then I need to reset it again. Sometimes it works resetting only a mesh, sometimes i need to reset the whole network. I have created a schedule to reset the system every 2 days, but it's annoying as it messes up some other smart things from my home.

Camera is being operated remotely via Tapo application.

Could it be something with it as the other one works fine?

Regards,

Stefan

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported issue.
1. Please describe your network diagram in detail, such as router ))) RE/ AP ))) RE/AP ))) camera, etc.

2. Whether your router, RE, and AP use the same Wi-Fi name and password?

3. When the camera is working, on the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Device Info page, please tap the Wi-Fi icon to see its RSSI value.

Best Regards

Re:Tapo C410 camera connection issue
Wednesday

  @Solla-topee Hi

1. Router Asus ASUS RT-BE92U with firmware Version 3.0.0.6.102_37435 launched on 2024/12/23 alongside a mesh system ASUS ZenWiFi AX Hybrid XP4 (2-PK), AX1800 + AV1300, Dual-Band.

I have 2 x Tapo C210 and 1 x Tapo C200 internal cameras and 2 x Tapo C410 Kit with Solar Panels

2. They all use the same Wi-fi name and password, nothing has been changed, the difference is that I've bind them to the closer mesh system near them

3. On the mesh system where the camera is connected the RSSI provided by the mesh is -63 dBm and on the camera C410 the signal is -46 dBm when it works :) and solid green

Regards,

Stefan

Re:Tapo C410 camera connection issue
Thursday

  @StefanSP

Hi,
1. If your mesh system has features such as fast roaming and mesh technology switch, turn them off for a try.

2. When the Tapo C410 has an issue, what LED status on it? Is it disconnected from Wi-Fi?

3. Please refer to the instructions below to collect the camera log for analysis.
How to get the log of Tapo app

Best Regards

Re:Tapo C410 camera connection issue
Yesterday

  @Solla-topee Hi

1. It has roaming assistance but it was off. As for mesh technology switch I couldn't find anything related and even so it should be bind to that mesh system and should not connect to anything else

2. The status LED is on red and the application says offline. Once I restart, after 3-5 minutes is comes back online with green light.

3. I have sent an email from my application but at that specific moment it disconnected and I presume it only sent the application logs without camera one

Regards,

Stefan

These are the settings for the mesh where the camera is connected. Not many things to configure. It is linked to my router and backhauld is on 5Ghz 1st as the powerline sometimes can have connectivity issues.

  @Solla-topee Hi

Meanwhile i receive a message for support sent from the application and a colleague of yours informed me that I should wait for the firmware update for that camera which will be available in a couple of days.

Once that will be done I will contact him with the logs of the camera and the application to see if there are any other issues spotted. Hopefully it will fix the issue. Also I will provide the forum and the rest of the information as you mentioned.

I will keep you updated as well when I will receive the firmware.

Regards,

Stefan
