Model: Tapo C520WS
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.1

Dear Folks,

When i turn on the camera light led (reflector) on alert ,its only blinking about 5 times on alert at about 20% light power..

When i press the Bulb icon to turn on the light reflector it works fine!

I've a C510 camera and its working fine! The reflector leds turns on any alert with full light power.

How can i fix this?

Regards,Szabolcs

Hi,
You can refer to the following instructions to see how to set up and utilize the spotlight on your Tapo cameras.
How to configure the Spotlight Settings of the Tapo cameras

Typically, you can go to the camera's Device Settings > Spotlight Settings page to adjust the spotlight's brightness and on/off duration.

If you select 'Light' or 'Sound & Light' in the Alarm Type on the camera's Alarm feature, the spotlight will flash several times when the camera detects events, rather than lighting up constantly.
If you press the bulb icon on the camera's Live View page to turn on the spotlight manually, it will light up for several minutes, depending on your configuration(the on/off duration).

Best Regards

Dear Solla-topee, thanks for your fast reply, i understand what you wrote, but i'm using the same setting at the 2 cameras.. The 510 works fine, when it detects something, the led reflector turns on for some seconds, on the 520 just flashes 4-5 times and turns off.

Hi,
On the Tapo C510W, if the spotlight turns on constantly for some time when the camera detects events, please confirm the following information.
  1. Does the Tapo C510W work in the Day or Night mode when the spotlight turns on?
  2. On the camera's Device Settings > Video & Display > Night Mode Settings page, which mode is selected?
Best Regards
