Model: Tapo C402 KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4

I bought this camera kit, but I didn't know that you couldn't set a recording schedule without there being any motion or a person or object being detected.

I have the intensity at maximum, the camera correctly oriented, motion and person detection configured correctly, clip duration at maximum, recording loop at 1. Even with all this, when a person walks by in the camera's range, it doesn't start recording immediately, but rather records when the person is halfway through the camera's field of view, and this is a weak point of vulnerability. I would love to know if it's possible to set a schedule so that it's always on and recording, and not just recording detections. I have it connected via a solar panel.

Hi,
1. If you insert an SD card into the camera to store video clips, you can refer to the instructions below to set the Detection Recording Schedule. If you have subscribed to the Tapo Care service, the camera will record detection video clips all the time.
How can I store the Tapo camera video recordings on a microSD card

Note: The battery-powered cameras do not support the continuous recording feature.

2. To conserve power, battery-powered cameras typically remain in a low-power sleep state and can only detect motion when awake. Based on your reported phenomenon, it seems that the camera may be waking up slowly. It's recommended to follow the steps in Part 2 in the instructions below to adjust the camera's settings, installation position, and angle to see if its performance improves:
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?

3. Some Tapo battery-powered cameras support the 24/7 capture feature. If you want this feature, you may contact your retailer to check if you can return the Tapo C410 Kit and purchase the new model.
24/7 Capture: See what happens all day long and never miss a critical moment

Best Regards
