Hi,
You can try the following steps to set up the Tapo C500.
1. After powering on the Tapo C500, wait for two minutes, and then press and hold the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds to perform a factory reset.
2. When the camera has a flashing red and green light, try to configure it in the Tapo app. If the same behavior occurs, please refer to Case 3 in the following instructions to troubleshoot, and confirm if the camera can see other Wi-Fi networks during the configuration process.
What should I do if I fail to configure Tapo Camera?
3. If the same behavior persists, please enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, set the Wi-Fi name, password, and security type to be the same as your router, configure the camera with another phone, and check if the camera can find the hotspot Wi-Fi during the setup process.
Best Regards

Thanks for your reply. unfortunately it did not work..
I did try the hard reset multiple times and did not work.
The weird part is i tried to different modems, Linksys 5400 and ZTE devices, it works well. only this specific router that im having issues. I opened also a case with the Router manufacturer.
What im seeing is a hardware issue component issue.
Please do help. Thank you.

Hi,
Do you mean that when you press and hold the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds to perform a factory reset, the camera does not respond to the reset operation, and the LED status does not change at all?
If so, what's the LED status on the Tapo C500?

Hi,
Have you also tried the following steps, but they do not work?
"Enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, set the Wi-Fi name, password, and security type to be the same as your Huawei router, configure the camera with another phone, and check if the camera can find the hotspot Wi-Fi during the setup process."
--If yes, you can then turn off the hotspot Wi-Fi after setting up the camera, reboot your camera, and check if it will connect to the Huawei router.
--If not, please confirm the following information for further analysis.
1) Can you see other Wi-Fi networks during the setup process?
2) What's the wireless channel and the security type of your Huawei Wi-Fi router? If the Wi-Fi name and password contain special characters, try changing them to a different combination.
3) If the Huawei router's 2.4G and 5G Wi-Fi settings are the same, change the 2.4G name to a different one for a try.
