Model: Tapo C530WS
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.3

Hello, I have the following problem with a C530WS camera. Mounted on an external wall, I have set 4 viewpoints, and at the moment I have only left it working on one, I have turned off the function to move at a certain time. The problem is that it records every 5 minutes without any real reason, but when I look at it I notice that the camera is constantly rotating in all directions and then stops at a certain one. I assume it is due to some setting, but I can't find it.

Hi,
Typically, when the Patrol Mode on the camera's Device Settings > Pan & Tilt page is enabled and configured correctly, the camera will rotate automatically between the marked viewpoints. When the Tracking feature on the camera's Device Settings > Detection page is enabled, the camera will rotate in response to detected events. If your camera rotates automatically, please check if these two features are enabled.

If the above instructions do not help, please send me a video showing the reported phenomenon for further analysis.
You can upload the video to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.

Best Regards

Hi, thank you for your reply. I have searched for additional settings and corrections to make so lets see what will happened. I have deleted all files from the card to see what is recording now. Will keep you posted.

Hi,
The video you sent seems to indicate the camera has returned to the center position after auto-calibration. This typically occurs after rebooting the camera or clicking Pan & Tilt correction on the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Pan & Tilt page. Regarding this reported phenomenon, please confirm:

  1. Is the camera powered by the original power adapter and power cord? If not, try to power it with the original power adapter and cord that comes with the camera in the box.
  2. If possible, please check the camera's LED status before and when the camera automatically pans and tilts.
  3. You can refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot: What Can I Do if My Camera Frequently Stucks or Reboots?
  4. Based on your previous information, is the video you sent recorded by the camera automatically to the SD card every 5 minutes?

Best Regards

Yes, it's recording on SD card and every 5 min. The camera is wired connected and I have two more cameras Tapo C320WS connected the same way to same switch and I don't have any problems with them. Will go through the link

Hi,
If turning off the recording feature or removing the SD card from the camera makes the camera work fine, you can insert a different SD card into the camera if you need the recordings.
What type of microSD card does Tapo Camera support?
Best Regards

I bought a new microSd card, made a hard reset and it’s same thing. Interesting part is when the Tapo app is open and I’m watching the camera - there is no problem. The moment I stop observing it after 5 min everything is the same, weird videos with camera rotating….

For me there are two options - first there is a problem with the firmware or there is a problem with the camera itself.

Hi,
Is the camera powered by the original power adapter and power cord? If not, try powering it with the original power adapter and cord that came with the camera in the box, and check if it helps.

Please describe your network diagram for further analysis. For example, internet -- wireless router -- switch-- Tapo C530WS, C320WS, etc.

What's the model number of your router?

Best Regards
