Complaint Regarding Poor Quality and Possible Tampering of C220 Camera
Dear Tapo Cam / Support Team,
I would like to bring to your attention some serious issues I have noticed with the C220 camera that was sent to me as an upgrade.
Upon comparing it with the C211 model, I found the C220 to be far inferior in performance. The video quality is poor, and the day–night auto-switching mode does not work properly. Surprisingly, the C211 model, despite having only a 3 MP lens, delivers much better picture quality. In contrast, the C220 with a 4 MP lens gives very poor results.
The unit I received appears new at first glance, but on closer inspection I found multiple scratches around the lens. The rubber around the lens also appears loose, giving the impression that the lens or the lens housing may have been replaced. It almost feels like a lower-resolution lens (possibly 2 MP) was fitted instead of the advertised 4 MP. This raises serious concerns about whether the product has been tampered with or whether I have been given a used camera.
Additionally, the C220 camera was sent with hardware version 1.0, which is an older version. The C211 I had earlier was running on hardware version 3.0, which further questions whether this so-called “upgrade” is truly an upgrade or not.
I request you to kindly look into this matter and provide me with a proper replacement or clarification regarding the quality and authenticity of the C220 camera I received.
