Not returning to patrol after AI follow

After doing a follow based on AI the camera doesn't return to the stay points to re enter patrol mode. This doesn't happen all the time. It has been a few days since last time it happened but once it happens selecting pan and tilt then re selecting patrol and pressing the horizontal scan overrides the stay points. It appears you have to delete and re enter them

Hi,
1. Please double-check the camera's model number; is it Tapo C560WS rather than C520WS?
2. The Patrol feature on the camera's Live View > Pan & Tilt page is different from the Patrol Mode on the camera's Device Settings > Pan & Tilt > Patrol Mode page. On the camera's Live View > Pan & Tilt > Patrol page, you can tap the Vertical Patrol or Horizontal Patrol button to do a complete tilt or pan sweep once.
After the reported phenomenon occurs, you can tap Pan & Tilt on the camera's Live View page to disable Patrol Mode and pan or tilt the camera to a different position, then navigate to the camera's Device Settings > Pan & Tilt > Patrol Mode page to enable Patrol Mode again.
3. From your description, the camera does not return to the stay point after tracking, which may be because the camera keeps detecting new events (such as the tree in the camera's detection zone keeps having motions, like shaking branches and leaves). Please check if you can adjust the camera's installation position or angle, exclude the tree from the camera's monitoring range, and then verify if this resolves the reported phenomenon.

Hi,
Please provide more detailed information about the reported phenomenon. Thanks!
1. Please go to the camera's Device Settings > Device Info page to check the camera's hardware and firmware versions.
2. Have you enabled the patrol mode on the camera's Device Settings > Pan & Tilt > Patrol Mode page, and enabled the Auto Tracking feature on the Detection page?
3. Is the phenomenon that the camera tracks an event during the patrol schedule, but it does not return to a marked position after tracking, so the patrol mode does not work anymore? Then, you can enter the camera's Live View > Pan & Tilt page to stop the patrol mode, and enable it again on the Device Settings > Pan & Tilt > Patrol Mode page to make it work again.
If not, would you please describe the phenomenon you encountered in detail?
4. Generally, after tracking an event, the camera will return to its default position after 30 seconds if no new events are detected. In your situation, have you waited 30 seconds after tracking and then checked if it will return to a marked position in patrol mode?
Best Regards

H/w: 1.0
F/w: 1.0.14

Yes

Yes the phenomenon is as you describe. I did try to return the device to patrol mode by disabling then I used the pan & tilt to re-enable it. However I then had to option either horizontal patrol or vertical. When I clicked the horizontal button it ignored the stay-points and did a complete sweep. I've since found out that you can un-click the button for it to return to the stay-point which is good (might be a good idea to label these buttons "complete horizontal/vertical sweep"). I didn't find it obvious that this not the way to instigate the camera to return to stay-point.

Yes this is the behaviour that normally happens but occasionally (maybe once every few days) it doesn't return to the stay point and my client find the camera pointing at a tree right at the edge of the full horizontal sweep range and it requires manual intervention to retrieve it from this state. Which basically turning patrol off and on again using the horizontal sweep followed by clicking that button again to get it to return to the stay-point.
