Failed C520WS firmware update ?
Yesterday
Model: Tapo C520WS
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 250701

Tapo app requested for an firmware upgrade for the C520WS. So I started the process.

After a while the C520WS started blinking very quickly with green. This should mean that it is still updating, right? I wonder how many hours I should wait. Must be jammed(?)
Through the app I see nothing as it says that the C520WS device is offline.

What next?

Switch off/on power ?

Or should I factory reset before switching it off ?

Which one makes less difficulties with the next steps?

Note: I have -58RSSI, is that enough for the job?

  @TeeKoo_fi

Hi,
You can turn off the camera and then turn it back on to see if it's still working. If so, check if the firmware is updated successfully.

You can refer to Q2 in the following instructions for troubleshooting if you fail to update the firmware.
Common questions about the TP-Link camera's firmware

The RSSI value of -58 dBm indicates that the camera's signal strength is medium to low. It's suggested to move the camera and router closer if possible before firmware updates.

Best Regards

  @Solla-topee
OK,

With the -58dBm the network icon is "full" in the App, giving me an idea that the signal strength is enough.

Please consider changing that "full" indication to something else IF that is not enough.

I will follow your proposal.

Thanks
