Model: Tapo C100
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 3.14.504

Hello,

I have recently moved houses and brought my C100 with me. However it says "There are no available 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks around."

I have already done the following:

- Disabled 5GHz WLAN

- Ensured DHCP is enabled and firewall is disabled

- Reset Tapo device

- Restart modem

- Restart Tapo device and app

The app does detect the device, it is only the WiFi connection it cannot detect.

  @Lucyfairr

Hi,
You can refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot if you fail to configure the Tapo C100.
What should I do if I fail to configure Tapo Camera?

If the same phenomenon persists, please confirm the following information.
  1. What's the model number of your router/modem?
  2. After you disable the 5G Wi-Fi on your modem/router, can you find the 2.4G Wi-Fi network on your phone from the modem/router, then connect to it to go to the internet?
  3. If your 2.4G and 5G Wi-Fi use the same Wi-Fi name, we suggest setting a different name for the 2.4G.
  4. What's the Wi-Fi channel of your 2.4G Wi-Fi network?

Best Regards

  @Solla-topee

I have the same issue starting a weeks ago:

  1. What's the model number of your router/modem?

my router/modem are RE305 firmware 1.1.5 and RE550 firmware 1.0.11, I tried both, C100 can't find either one.

  2. After you disable the 5G Wi-Fi on your modem/router, can you find the 2.4G Wi-Fi network on your phone from the modem/router, then connect to it to go to the internet?

I disabled 5G on both moderns, my iphone can connect to 2.4G Wi-Fi and get internet, but the C100 can't find the 2.4G Wi-Fi, even I tried to add manually.

  3. If your 2.4G and 5G Wi-Fi use the same Wi-Fi name, we suggest setting a different name for the 2.4G.

I also renamed the 2.4G Wi-Fi to a different name, C100 still can't find it

  4. What's the Wi-Fi channel of your 2.4G Wi-Fi network?

how can I find Wi-Fi channel with the app Tether?

  @danis000000

Hi,
The RE305 and RE550 are not modems or routers; they are range extenders. If they are connected to the front router via Wi-Fi, they have the same Wi-Fi channel as the front router.

Is the Tapo C100 close to your router or the range extenders?

If the Tapo C100 can't detect your router or range extenders' 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, can it detect other Wi-Fi networks?

Best Regards

  @tiagogsousa they replaced my device. They tested the old one and it only connects to android devices. We only have apple devices at home - which, apparently, doesn't work after a reset.

Re:Unable to detect 2.4Ghz wifi on C100
Yesterday

  @Solla-topee

thank you for your help, but I use them in AP mode.

yes, my C100 is right beside them, and it can't find it and any other 2.4G Wifi network.

I also manually changed my 2.4G wi-Fi to channel 1, still can't be seen by C100, though my iphone has no problem to connect.

best regards,

  @danis000000 I found a solution, the problem is on ios, connected then using an android phone and opened my account on iphone and now its all fine. It seems that they released yesterday some updates on ios app and on cam firmware, its strange because 1 of my 2 cameras dont appear the new firmware update.
