Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.4.5

I've had two Tapo C200 cameras for over a year, both very close to my ISP's router. They record locally to an SD card. One works perfectly, the other keeps losing connectivity. On the malfunctioning one, I tried to enable diagnostics, but it said it couldn't see the SD card. I replaced the SD card with a new one, it froze, and when I tried to enable diagnostics again, I was able to. The current firmware is 1.4.5 on both cameras. If it freezes again, is there anywhere I can access the diagnostic logs? I can't find anywhere to download them in the app.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi,
Typically, you can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot if the camera keeps losing connection.
What should I do if my Tapo smart device keeps losing connection or going offline?

Would you please provide a detailed description of the freeze phenomenon you experienced after inserting an SD card into the camera?

When the camera is working, please go to its Device Settings > Device Info page, tap the Wi-Fi icon, and check the RSSI value. When it's offline in the Tapo app, what's the LED status? How do you recover the connection?

You need to remove the SD card from the camera, connect it to your computer (via an SD card adapter), and then locate the diagnostic logs.
How to get the log of Tapo Camera

Best Regards

Hello. Thank you for your response.
The cameras are actually at my son's house, and I'm trying to help him with the problem. The situation is that, periodically, I see from the app that the camera appears disconnected. I ask my son to restart it, and it simply comes back online.
The RSSI value at this moment, for the camera that freezes, is -31. For the one that doesn't freeze, it's -36. Both cameras are recording locally to SD cards, in principle, without problems (I don't know if it continues recording when it freezes; I would have to check that). The camera, at the moment it freezes, has a normal green light.

After the freeze occurs, I'm going to ask my son to review the diagnostic logs. I think that will definitively solve the problem (or determine the cause).

Regards!

Hi,
Please confirm the following information for the reported phenomenon for further analysis.

  1. Is the freeze phenomenon you experienced that the camera displays an offline state in the Tapo app? When did the offline phenomenon start to occur (such as after you purchase it or at other times)?

  2. Please send me (@Solla-topee) the camera's MAC address (the one with the freeze phenomenon) via a private message. You can go to its Device Settings > Device Info page to find the MAC address.

  3. After you collected the diagnostic log, you can upload it to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send the link to me via a private message.

Best regards
