Firmware Version: 1.1.2

We have several C500 cameras and have just swapped one of them for a C720. It's been set up with person detection and line crossing detection and although it seems to detect those events, it fails to notify us of the event for anything beteeen 2 minutes and 30 minutes. I can walk outside in front of the camera and will only get a notification long after I have come back inside. Why does it take so much time? Surely the whole point of notifying me that someone has been detected is so that I can see who it is in real time rather than half an hour after they have broken into the house and nicked everything!

This phenomenon isn't restricted to the C720 and seems to happen also with some (but not always all) of our other Tapo cameras.

Can anyone explian why there's a random length delay and whether it can be resolved so that we get notified at the time of the event not some time after it has already occurred?

EDIT: This happens on two different iPhones and an iPad all running iOS 26.2 and all seem to receive notifications at different times for  the same event

  @ROPL

Hi,
You can refer to Part 2 in the instructions below to troubleshoot the reported phenomenon.
What to do if I can't receive notifications with the Tapo Cam or have a delayed notification

If the same phenomenon persists, please confirm the following information for further analysis.
  1. Please send me (@Solla-topee) your cameras' MAC addresses via a private message. You can go to the camera's Device Settings > Device Info page to find its MAC address.
  2. Take the Tapo C720 and an event as an example. Please send us the date, time, and time zone when the event is detected, and the date, time, and time zone when the notification is received on your iPhone and iPad.

Best Regards
