Switch of night vision

Model: Tapo C211
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.3

I bought this camera to mount in window and capture movement outside my home, principally trains going past!

At night the camera picks up its own reflection in the glass and effectively blinds itself.

There is a fix but it's not obvious. From the camera view page in Tapo app, click on the picture and 4 icons appear. Click on the third that looks like a sun or light icon.

This will take you to video mode screen. Click on daylight mode. This will turn off the night vision infra red lights.

Problem solved!

Hi,
Thank you for sharing your experience. However, we typically do not recommend placing a camera behind a window or glass. Below are the installation tips.
How to position my TP-Link camera for optimal performance?

Regarding the day/night mode selection, the following instructions may be helpful: Tapo Camera Day/Night Mode Selection Guide: Best Settings Recommendations for Different Scenarios
