Tapo C520WS sound quality
The sound quality on my c52ows is very poor , its quiet ,muffeld and intermittent, i can't even hear a car passing by.
In comparison i can easily hear people talking in street on my igeek camera.
Adjusting the mic gain doesn't help at all.
This seems to be an issue with these with many people complaining about the problem, is it a hardware or software problem?

Hi All,
The reported audio issue is solved on the Tapo C520WS V1 with the official firmware 1.2.7 Build 240306 Rel.68340n. You can update the firmware on the Tapo app for a try if your firmware is not the latest one.
If you have any new issues with the new firmware, it's recommended to start a new thread to report it with the following information for further analysis.
1. The hardware and firmware of the camera.
2. The detailed problem phenomenon.
3. It would be appreciated if you could provide a video showing the problem.
Best Regards

2. Please help confirm the following information if the camera remains the same phenomenon.

Hi,
If it's possible to let the Tapo C325WB and Tapo C520WS monitor the same place, please have a try, and send me the videos recorded by the Tapo C325WB and C520WS to have a comparison.

I have put 2 clips on youtube
The 520 doesn't pick the car noise up, what i have noticed is when you turn the mic off then back on for a second you get sound then the noise cancelling shuts everything off again.

Hi , yes i have had an email and thank you for the support, however i have now sent the camera back to amazon for a refund as this is the second camera with the same issue with the sound.
I did cover the mic with a wind shield to see if that would help but it didn't.

I had also returned c520ws two units due to audio and poor video quality issue. Video quality has been crippled down due to low bitrate. Recording resolution was set to 2k 25fps @ 50hz power line frequency. Tested via local stream/RTSP (primary/mainstream 2K QHD).
Tapo C220 audio and video recording quality is way better than C520ws. Also colors of c520ws are way to saturated and sometimes washed out compared to C220.
TP-link really needs to give a high/adjustable bit rate for TapoCloud and local rtsp streams if they want survive competition.

@Solla-topee
I have the exact same problem as bob-one.
The sound from 2 cameras is muffled. The cameras are a C520WS mounted outside and a C220 mounted inside.
Is there a fix?
