Model: Archer C59
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.0.1

I'm trying to use a 1TB Western Digital Passport USB drive on my C59 for backup storage, but the router's SMB server (Windows network share) keeps crashing when I try to copy files to it. It runs for a while, and I get a few gigabytes processed, but after a while the network share simply disappears in mid backup. I have to reboot my router to restore the network share. The router's admin web page is still available, and router and WiFi functions still work. Just the SMB server is gone. Is this a known issue? Is there anything I can do to resolve the issue?

@Karl-U

This is not something we have heard about before.  Please share with us the following:

1.  Model of the WD drive

2.  Version and Build of Windows OS.

3.  Version of SMB you are using

4.  Format of the HD

5.  Logs from the router and Windows when the issue happens.

Thank you
