I recently purchased the TP-Link 3 system mesh wifi and I have fiber and cable internet connections for redundancy.  I was using a TP-link dual wan load balancing switch but it is only 1 gig and now I have 2.3 Gig fiber connection as well as 600 MBPS.  To maximize the system do I need to upgrade my load balancer or can I just plug both WAN conections into the router and it performs the same function?  As it has multiple ports and they sense WAN/LAN.

If I need to get a separate switch does anyone know if there is a good one that is RJ-45 as I have ethernet and not SFP+.

  @Tuxcyron,

You would need to upgrade the switch, unfortunately.

I think there may be a few Archer's that support Load Balancing, but we mostly save Load Balancing for Business Grade routers and switches. When Decos find a WAN connection, their other ports automatically become LAN ports; there is no consistent monitoring of ports for multiple WANs - HOWEVER, when its WAN connection is lost, it will automatically try to sense an active connection again.

Plugging both into the router would likely cause headaches since it would be rebuilding its network connection and communicating with a new Gateway/IP, whereas load balancing and link aggregation maintains the connection for quick switching.

Overall, you will have a much more stable and consistent experience with a switch above your Decos, managing the WAN connections.
