Model: Deco BE63
Hardware Version: V20
Firmware Version: 1.3.2 Build. 26040912 rel.40631

When connecting laptop to isp modem (not router) directly and doing a yahoo ping it pings IP6, as expected.

When connecting DECO to same ISP Modem both IP4 and IP6 are issued to DECO Internet/WAN side.

When connecting same laptop either via WIFI or ETHERNET ip issued via DECO's DHCP are both IPv4 and IPv6, as expected.

However, when a ping to the same yahoo address are done it pings via IPv4 not IPv6.

The default is IPv6 on laptop and all IPv6 is "enabled" and being issued..

What is wrong, why and how to fix?

Thanks in advance

First please access the Deco web UI by entering "tplinkdeco.net" in your browser. Navigate to Advanced > System > System Log, select "ALL" in the log type, and save the file to your local computer. Then follow the steps below making sure to attach the logs to the email.

I recommend sending an email to forumsupport.usa@tp-link.com with the following information:

  @GeorgeDecoBE63

Hi,
If you have sent an email to forumsupport.usa@tp-link.com but have not received a reply, please update here with the email reference number(e.g., TKIDXXXX) after submitting the email. I'll forward the information to the relevant team to follow up on your case.

You can also provide pictures of the test results for the following steps, and we will see if there are any other suggestions for your case.
(You can upload the pictures to your cloud server (such as Google Drive) or YouTube, generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.)
  1. Connect your laptop to the Deco network and go to the command page.
  2. Try to ping the yahoo address,  type nslookup www.yahoo.com, and send us the test results.
  3. Type curl -6 http://ip.sb and send us the test results.
  4. Send us the screenshots of the Deco app > More > Internet Connection > IPv4 and IPv6 pages.

Best Regards
