Model: Deco X75
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.2 Build 20230509

Initially I had all networks using the same SSID. As I was troubleshooting some of my IoT devices, I temporarily changed the 6Ghz one and when I went to change it back, I get the error This Network Name Already Exists. I've tried rebooting and still can't use the same network again. Was it originally a fluke or is there some other configuration I should look at that is preventing me from doing this? Thank you,

  @Amulet27

Hi, Welcome to the community. I did remember that Deco APP does not allow 6 Ghz using the same SSID as 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz since the security method for 6 Ghz is quite different from the normal 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz. Are you sure that you are able to set up the same SSID before?

And a new version of the Deco APP was just released several days ago and it is suggested to update the Deco APP to the latest 3.4.21 first to see whether the same notification popped up again.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP The same thing happened to me. I was able to use the same SSID for 2.4GHz/5GHz and 6GHz during the initial setup / onboarding process of my Deco XE75 Pro. But when I tried to change the WPA setting afterwards, I got the "This network name already exists" error.

Given that using the same SSID for all bands seems to be the trend going forward (e.g. Apple is recommending it in https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202068), and given that it seems that it actually works on Deco, can we simply remove that constraint in the iOS App? Thank you!

  @ClumsyLee

Thanks for validating and for the Apple document! I agree that this issue should be addressed and remedied to allow the name to exist on all bands.

@David-TP I updated and can confirm the pop up still exists.

@David-TP I'm able to have both 2.4Ghz/5Ghz and 6Ghz with same SSID. Attached picture below.

@All: What I did was setup all 2.4/5Ghz band first then enable 6Ghz later. It seems that I'm still able to switch back to same SSID as my main 2.4/5 band after attempting to rename my 6Ghz. Maybe try to switch the 2.4/5 to 5Ghz only then try renaming the 6Ghz one. If not, a reset could be the last straw :D.
