Model: Deco S4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: no idea

I have this Deco s4 - 3 pieces - that I'd like to be able to use with the new TMobile at home 5g internet, if possible.

I'm hoping someone can tell me if it is possible. And if so, how to wipe out the old info from its previous pairing and set it up to work with this system.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

  @nicsand

You can certainly connect your main Deco by cable to the Tmobile modem.
You can modify the configuration of the Deco, why do you want to wipe it?

If you really want to reset it, you can do that, via the app, by "deleting the network", or using the "reset" switch present on each unit.

Once the units are flasjhing blue, you can start the installation process from scratch.

  @nicsand,

I will chime in for one specific thing, that may not even affect you, unless you are trying to absolutely maximize your connection - and it depends on your hardware / ISP settings. However, overall, you should not experience any problems, and your setup should have no problems.

T-Mobile 5G Internet tends to use a different MTU size for their data, this means that they may try to send more data per packet than your router/deco is expecting. The ability to change the MTU size is something that has been added to more recent models via a firmware update.

The feature to change the MTU size that your Deco network expects is only required on the main node, meaning upgrading your main node to a model that supports the feature will add the feature to your entire network.
