I am looking for a solution to use a Tapo smart switch without a load attached. The goal is to use the switch (e.g. Tapo S505 or S515) to remotely control a smart plug or outlet (e.g. Tapo P210M).

Is this possible with these devices? Or do the Tapo Smart Switches need to have a load attached?

  @Pgice,

I am not actually sure and need to check with my team and get back to you, but my first inkling is that it will error as if it had an incompatible wiring setup. For a switch, keep your eyes peeled as we are set to announce quite a few different devices at CES. For now, I would really recommend simply using an S200D for simple control over a plug or light as it is its intended design and could actually communicate directly with your smart plug thorugh the H100's Local Automations feature, instead of having to pass your commands through the internet.
