November New Features and Highlights

 

New Deco Feature — Combined 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz & 6 GHz Tri-Band SSID: In case you missed it, a new feature is now available to many of our Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 Deco models! In the Deco app, supported models now let you enable a unified Tri-Band (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz + 6 GHz) Mesh network SSID, joining previous options such as MLO Mesh Networking, and separate 6 GHz SSID settings. Learn More in Our Community Article.
 

VPN Kill Switch Feature Introduced to Several Archer Models: Archer AX10 | Archer AX1450 | Archer AX1500 | Archer AX5400 Pro | Archer AX72 Pro | Archer AX80 | Archer AXE5400 | Archer AXE75

November Solutions and Pre-Release Firmware

 

Resolution for Limited Accessibility to Google Services on Specific ISP Networks (Starlink and Others): For users experiencing frequent difficulties connecting to Google services (e.g., Google Calendar, Gmail, YouTube) while using Deco Mesh Systems on the following ISP networks: Starlink, ISOMEDIA, and Fastel. Our teams have investigated the causes of these phenomena.   • Advanced Parental Controls For HomeCare: Several Deco and Archer Models Received a Significant Update to their HomeCare Feature Set in September. This update marks a Major Shift from HomeCare Protection to an Enhanced Version of Parental Control and Network Security service kit. 

    Note: This firmware update not only retains all legacy features from the HomeCare Protection service at no cost but also introduces innovative functionalities from our Advanced Parental Control Subscription.

Archer AX6000 - Loss of Internet Connection After Updating to Firmware Version 1.2.1 has been addressed via the latest official firmware version 1.4.1/1.4.2. It is recommended to update to the latest firmware version.

 This was just released and it's constantly logging DHCP ACKs hourly.   Who knows why anyone would need this verbosity.  
 

please clean this new feature and repost an updated firmware version

  @Ryan and team hope you are doing well!!!

 

Can you please share an update on upcoming firmware and app improvements for the Deco BE95? It has been a while since the last major release and the system is currently having several issues, especially with:

  • Roaming stability (clients taking too long to roam or dropping)

  • Newer devices on MLO networks, such as:

    • iPhone 17 (all models)

    • Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

Additionally, there are a few limitations in the Deco app that make it hard to properly tune 6 GHz and MLO:

  1. 6 GHz Channel & Frequency Management

    • The app does not allow full control of 6 GHz channels and width in a clear way.

    • If you disable the 6 GHz network on your main or dedicated SSID, the MLO SSID can still use 6 GHz in the background.

    • There is currently no way to adjust 6 GHz parameters (channel, width, etc.) specifically for the MLO SSID.

  2. Network Optimization Behavior & Visibility

    • When running “Network Optimization,” the app automatically applies new channels without showing what is going to be changed beforehand.

    • It would be very helpful if, after the scan, the app prompted a summary of the proposed changes (for example: “2.4 GHz → Channel X, 5 GHz → Channel Y, 6 GHz → Channel Z”) and asked for confirmation before applying them.

    • If 6 GHz is disabled on the main SSID but MLO is still active, the optimization report only shows changes for 2.4 and 5 GHz. It does not show what optimizations are being applied to 6 GHz, even though 6 GHz is still in use via MLO.

  3. Fast Roaming Configuration per SSID / Band

    • It would be very useful if Fast Roaming could be enabled or disabled per SSID or per band, instead of only as a global setting.

    • For example, being able to disable Fast Roaming on 2.4 GHz networks (to avoid issues with older / legacy devices that don’t fully support it), while keeping Fast Roaming enabled for 5 GHz and 6 GHz SSIDs so that newer devices can still benefit from faster, smoother roaming.

These improvements would greatly help advanced users to troubleshoot roaming issues, optimize performance for modern Wi-Fi 7 devices, and better understand how MLO and 6 GHz are being handled by the system.
