Issue Description/Phenomenon:
Recently we received feedback that the DHCP Server failed with 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 firmware, the issue may manifest as follows:
- DHCP Server won't provide dynamic IP addresses to end clients in some cases.
Related Post: DHCP Server Fails Every Few Hours
(1) simply clicking Save on the Edit Network page will bring the DHCP server to work for a few hours.
(2) reboot doesn't help, the issue doesn't exist with the router firmware 1.1.1.
- Some clients are assigned the same IP address, causing they cannot access the internet.
Related Post: Issues with DHCP, clients get same iP addresses
(1) rebooting the router will solve the issue for a while.
(2) the issue doesn't exist with the router firmware 1.1.1.
Note:
ER605 v2 doesn't have the two DHCP issue described above.
Thank you all @jdpk, @Karel-24, @PascalSBR for reporting the issue with detailed information, and your great cooperation with our support engineers to look into the issue is much appreciated!
After further investigation and tests, the TP-Link team has addressed the problem finally.

@Fae I have a ER605 V1 and running firmware 1.2.3 and Omada SDN 5.9.31. Trying to fix the IP address of a client on any of the VLANs apart from the default VLAN 1 does not work so I think this is still an issue.

@Fae the DHCP issue is again present in the 1.2.3 trial build (20230224) for my ER605 v1, resulting in devices lacking internet connectivity and self-assigning IP addresses (169.254.X.X).

After months of unidentified issues with users not being able to connect to the network, I installed this latest firmware update for ER7206 in order to address the DHCP issues that are supposed to be solved.
After numerous attempts, I am still not able to get a stable network. The lack of tools to check the configuration and the sleepless nights has now brought me to the point of breaking everything down in order to build it up again. But I need to get a grip on the configuration first.
My Omada configuration:

- The NW Gateway (#1) is connected to the Backbone switch (#5) via 1000MB
- The 3 PoE switches (#2,3,4) are connected to the Backbone switch (#5) via fiber
- The 3 PoE switches (#2,3,4) are connected to 19 EAP's and 12 camera's via 1000MB
- My Synology NAS is connected to the Backbone switch via 1000MB
- The Omada controller OC200 (1.21.7 Build 20221206 Rel.58608) is connected to the switch (#4), running version 5.7.6
- 6 networks are defined, of which 2 connected to 2 different WiFi networks, for 2 different user groups.
My observations (not all):
- DHCP for wired devices is working properly
- DHCP for existing (wireless) networks is NOT working properly
- The connection with WiFi is always happening. No issues there.
- DHCP for new (wireless) networks is working properly
- Omada does not give me any indication why wireless clients are not able to get an IP-address throught DHCP.
- After version 1.2.3 for the ER7206: After reconfiguration actions in the switches, re-adoption of the switches fails, because the userid/password is not correct. When I enter admin/admin, the re-adoption continues.
- Changes in the configuration are done in an instant on the user interface, but can take several minutes to propagate into the network. This has lead to several misunderstandings of the status of the network. I would like to see some kind of progress indication to know what the status of the network is.
- Logging messages are not very useful. When the underlaying cause for an error message is not mentioned, it's quite impossible to analyze the situation properly.
What else should I have a look at to get my network stable again?

Did you configure DHCP Reservation for the client devices? If yes, please reconnect the client device to check whether it can get the reserved IP address as expected. You can reconnect on the client device, or go to Clients for Reconnect. Thanks!
If there is no DHCP Reservation configured, the client devices just don't get valid IP address from the DHCP, please firstly wipe out any possible mis-configuration issue, and tag me to escalate your case directly. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

And now my ER7206 does not adopt anymore, it does not recognise any of my passwords!
Before the ER7206 failed to be adopted, was there anything else changed?
What's the current state of your ER7206 now? Is there showing any error message or logs when you try to adopt it?
Are the switches and other devices properly adopted and stay connected in the controller? Does your Internet connection drop?

@Fae I've rebooted the router and checked the DHCP Reservations.
I want to set the IP address of the client to 192.168.20.89 (on VLAN20), but it will allways connect to 192.168.0.105. If I set the reservation to 192.168.0.88 (on the base network (VLAN1) it works.

It seems that the client can get an IP address from the DHCP but not from the expected VLAN network. Please try to Start a New Thread here and provide more detailed information like how the client is connected, and how the VLAN is setup so that we can better understand what happened and try to help you out.

@Fae - I've set up a new thread - ER605v1 - DHCP Reservation does not work on VLANs except on base LAN (VLAN1).
