I have a C425 Outdoor camera.  The only time it senses motion is when I have the app open on my phone and actively looking at it - and eve then it is pretty erratic.  With the app miminized I get no motion dectection and no push notifications.  I have read in some of these forums that it is a firmware issue and I have tried to upgrade my firmware both automatically and maunally and both say I have the latest firmware version.  My version is V 1.2.21 Build 240809 Rel 52696n.  One of the posts referred to a firmware of 1.35 something but I can't get past the 1.2.21 that came with the camera.  Can anybody give me an idea of where to look next to sort this out?  I am using it in an area where I am trying to detect wildlife through a push notification.  Thank you in advance for any help given.  Bill

Hi,
1. The new firmware for the Tapo C425 is being released, it's suggested to wait patiently if you do not detect the new firmware on the Tapo app.

 

2. The problem may not be related to the firmware but has something to do with the camera settings, installation, and the actual motions.
    1) Please go to the camera's Device Settings > Detection > Wake-up Sensitivity to ensure the sensitivity value is high.
    2) Please refer to the instructions below to test the camera's activity detection zone, send me a picture of the camera's Live View page, and ensure the motion occurs within the activity detection zone.
Detection Range Test: test the activity detection zone of the Tapo Battery Camera
    3) Could you please send us a video showing the motion that can't be detected by the camera?
