Thanks for the reply. I'm just getting use to the forum format. That’s good to hear the AX23 is getting use. I am not sure that your BE230 model is offered in Japan yet. I have looked over several BE models offered here and landed on the BE550 for its tri-band offering. I admit I don’t need the speed of Wifi 7 yet, just better range.
After a bit more research it seems they just updated the firmware of the wifi 6 AX3000 JP model to offer wired backhaul on November 29 2024. This simplifies my choice further and helps my budget too.
I can either get 2 of these and an NAS.
Or for a bit more two AX80 models that offer USB 3.0 and no need for an NAS unit yet.

Thank you for your detailed information.
Archer AX3000(JP) V1 supports EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul and EasyMesh in AP Mode as you saw in the release notes:
https://www.tp-link.com/jp/support/download/archer-ax3000/#Firmware

Archer AX80(JP) V1 supports EasyMesh but it doesn't support Ethernet/wired Backhaul.
I will update the list to avoid confusion.

thank you for your fast reply.
Can you confirm if the BE550 V1 JP
Japaese Version = BE9300
Offers the same wired backhaul
as well as mesh in AP model as the listed US model?
if not, PLEASE contact support to push this feature in the next JP firmware for it.
Can you please add all the models
AC AX and BE for the Japanese market. To your pinned list
The Japanese support note for firmware one by one often do not list this feature.
And the Japanese site list cannot be sorting by any "filters" for clarity like the US site can.
I’m happy to link this post and this info to my Reddit posts as well.
TP link is growing as a brand here in Japan for Hikari fiber now; throughout Tokyo and perhaps nationwide. A lot of users would buy these routers if they can confirm compatibility and features more clearly.
You can get a much later market share just by adding as much details on individual product pages to your Japanese website; as you have for your US and UK sites.
I’m sure this isn't your department but please pass this idea along too.
thank you for your hard work.

Archer BE550 V1 supports EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul. However, EasyMesh when working in AP Mode is not available at this moment (planned).

I will try to confirm which models in the Japanese market support these features, but I can't guarantee success due to the customized versions available locally, making detailed checks challenging.

From my own research individually.
The only JP three Japanese models that state wired backhaul in the firmware.
AX23V JP
AX3000 JP
and the new RE900XD unit
https://www.tplink.com/jp/support/download/re900xd/#Firmware
NONE of the following models which were all updated with firmware in 2024 have wired backhaul.
Listed in overall popularity of the market here:
AXE5400 JP
AX5400 JP
AX110000 JP
AX80 JP
AX73 JP
AX72 JP
Understandable, as their focus is now on the new BE series. But I am surprised that the lower cost AX3000 JP and the AX23V both received the updated ability but not the high priced and more capable models with USB 3.0 support.
it seems my options are limited for either a few AX3000 units. Or the newer B550 units.
Thank you kindly for all of you help and suppprt.
You have been extremely knowledgeable and very informative. I look forward to replacing my C3150 soon.

Another waste of time from TP-link.
Wanted a router to use as a EasyMesh Satelitte that was white and unlike all the Arceher models, does not look like its been designed by a 5 year old out of lego, found the VX230v on the website listed as supporting Wired Backhaul.
https://www.tp-link.com/uk/easymesh/product-list/#wi-fi-routers

So purchased the device, and cannot set up as a satelitte. Contacted TP-Link support only to be told....
So now I am expected to change my expensive BE9300 router which has IOT network and much better performance and use the VX230v as the main router and lose all the benefits of the $400 router just becuase TP-Link marketing cannot write accurate specs for the pants their development team churn out.
Blaming the website details is also disengenuous as the actual router interface shows the option to set it as a satelitte (Agent).
This company really does have some very good hardware but its being let down by cr@p specification data and almost dishonest marketing which is promising so much but delivering so little.

Hi,
That is very unfortunate. I feel sorry for you.
I remember others have noticed it before that the filter switches for "Backhaul Connection" on the EasyMesh Product List webpage you mentioned do not work properly. (actually, to me it appears they do nothing at all)

Hi. Thank you for your support
ts not just the backhaul issue but that this device canot act as a satellite (agent) at all.
It's just poor from TP-Link. They have too many models that have confusing and mixed names (how many are called AX1800) and with this many models they can never hope to support and advance the brand as there are just too many variations to manage.

Hi Kevin,
I've been using the AX53 v1 in Beta since the beginning and there have been no more updates for it... Is there any forecast?
Mercusys routers can access the second router in Mesh without any problems, while TP-Link routers can't. Is there any possibility of this update?
Greetings from Angelo Winicius from Brazil

@Kevin_Z Mesh Ethernet backhaul on Tp-link Archer AX53 V1 routers
The following scenario shows us my network topology and the issue I am facing once using Ethernet backhaul on my Mesh network at home.
Topology
My topology is Main Router -TP-link AX72 Pro V1- and 3 Satellite Routers -TP-link AX53 V1- which are connected to the Main Router via Ethernet cable.
Firmware
The main router was updated to the last version and the satellites to firmware 1.2.4 Build 20240206 (Public Beta Firmware for Trial) which it is supposed to support Ethernet backhaul.
Mesh Configuration
TP-link AX53 V1 routers have been added to the main router as satellites via wireless successfully, it means Wireless Backhaul works in the Wifi Mesh.
Then Ethernet cables have been connected between a LAN port at the main router and the WAN por at the satellites successfully. A few minutes after, Ethernet Backhaul started to work successfully.
Issue
Once a power outage happens, the network stability is lost after power is reestablished.
Request
When will the Tp-link archer AX53 V1 router firmware be updated to an official one which supports Ethernet backhaul and to replace the public beta firmware 1.2.4 build 20240206?
It is a pending task that Tp-link must develop as soon as possible to resolve the request of many people who have bought this modern router.
