Model: Deco BE85
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.20

Hi,

After few months of painstaking trying to figure out if I am able to make this work, which I ended up a dead end, I would like to officially request the feature to manage our own Wi-Fi channels for all bands as the "Network Optimization" tool doesn't fit the bill.

I'm not sure why is this function not included in the first place as this is priced as a high end router/AP just below the Omada series. I paid a great fortune to get my hands on BE85 and ended up with something that is not totally in my control.

FYI, I have Omada deploy on my brother's house and when I've made the decision to get Deco for myself just because I do not need such big deployment as my brother's, even though both prices are comparable.

I hope TPLink will able to give us back all the controls we need for power users. It seems there's a lot of threads on this topic itself.

Thanks.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Lately, our engineers have been reassessing the possibilities to support customizing the wireless channels of Deco.

For some models, there are plans to introduce this feature through a firmware upgrade.

Currently, there is a workaround for Deco BE85_V1/V2. If you are interested, please refer to the private message for more details.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi, Thanks for sharing. I am currently testing it out. It looks promising but I still unable to select channel for 2.4Ghz. I have a handful of IoT laying around and getting the right channel to avoid interference will be very helpful. I wish all bands will have this feature on the final release.

Cheers
