I have a Tapo C520WS connected to a long ethernet cable. It works fine.

I'm curious to know what's happening when I view the live camera in an app or Alexa. Is the signal staying within my home network or does the camera broadcast out onto the internet to a (manufacturer's) server and then find it's way back to my home network? Is it possible to access my camera from a remote location with WiFi?

Thanks for any advice,

Ken

Hi,
Generally, if you have setup the camera successfully, it will connect to the internet and our cloud sever, and you can watch the camera remotely on our Tapo app and Alexa device(such as Echo Show).
For example, when you watch the camera remotely on our Tapo app , the request and the live stream will be transmitted via the cloud server between the Tapo app and the camera.
Best Regards
