@Kevin_Z Please consider to tag my thread as "Future Consideration" if Tp-Link decision maker will implement DOT/DOH in the future. I hope R&D will fix the current firmware bugs and implement DOT/DOH on the next firmware update.

Great to hear TP-Link is still updating the AX53 firmware, that's my main router. I'm really looking forward to getting DoH/DoT support, since that's the one big missing feature. I picked this router up last year without realizing it didn't have that. :/

So, I've tested a couple of things. Bought a brand new AX53 with factory firmware and flashed it with firmware 1.3.1 that I still had on my laptop. Using the new AX53 with firmware 1.3.1 as main router and the old AX53 with firmware 1.4.3 as satellite Guest networks are not broadcasted from the satellite.
If I use the new AX53 with firmware 1.3.1 as main router and my old EX220 with factory firmware as satellite everything is back to normal, Guest networks are broadcasted from the satellite too.
What I also noticed that if a client is connected to the EX220's Guest network guest isolation doesn't work, guest clients can reach my main network without any problems. If I move next to the main router guest isolation is working as it should, no access to my main network.
So bottom line, these are pretty big firmware flaws in my opinion. Any fixes in the near future?

@Kevin_Z
i have ax53 US v2 and cannot find another v2 for easy mesh.
All available are ax53 v1.
Please inform whether a US v1 with pre release firmware work properly in easy mesh ethernet backhaul with a v2 and also support channels 149-161.
Since only us version support these channels.

@Pufi24 Thank you for getting back with additional tests.
Could you please provide the build number of both AX53 1.3.1 and 1.4.3 versions, such as 1.3.1 Build 20241120 rel.54901?
Is the SSID of the Guest Network different from the main network? What is the SSID of the extended Guest Network you're connected to?

Yes. Both AX53 V1 and V2 supports EasyMesh via Ethernet Backhaul.
BTW, there is a newer 1.4.3 version for AX53 V1, you can update to that version instead of the pre-release 1.4.1.
I will close this thread to better focus on new official firmware discussions.

@deadman4168 Yes. Both the US and EU versions have received this latest update. You can check for updates on your router web GUI or via the Tether App once you receive it.

Firmware version 1.3.1 Build 20241120 rel.54901(4555) - this version broadcasts guest SSIDs on satellite devices too
Firmware version 1.4.3 Build 20250314 rel.78903(4555) - this version does not
I have sepparate SSIDs for set for my main network and my guest network. I have sepparate SSIDs for the 2.4ghz and 5ghz too, so my SSIDs look like:
Main2G, Main5G; Guest2G, Guest5G.
I noticed another thing, which is pretty important. With the 1.3.1 firmware guest SSIDs are broadcasted on the satellites but ARE NOT isolated from the main network at all. Guest clients can see and interact with the main clients, but only on satellites, if I go near my main router isolation works.
I got kind of fed up having to spend hours and days trying to set up an isolated space for unsafe devices, so I replaced the EX220 with AX53 to be satellite (this way I have 2 AX53s forming the mesh network) and I set up the EX220 as standalone, in router mode using ethernet and isolated it using Device Isolation in the AX53's settings, reserved an IP address for it, and to my surprise everything was working this way as it should, I succeeded to achieve a completely isolated network from my main network.
TP-Link should get it's firmwares sorted out, because there are a lot of features advertised but half of them don't work properly or don't work at all! The hardware itself is pretty solid for this price range, but the software gives people headaches.

Thank you very much for your detailed information once again.
Since EasyMesh (with generic firmware, such as on Archer AX53) is designed to only extend the main network, as I confirmed earlier, I'm not sure why you can extend the Guest Network by using the EX220, and the development team cannot reproduce the scenario. Are you willing to work with our engineering team to investigate this issue further? They may request to reconnect the EX220 to the EasyMesh network to check the reported issue.
Please let me know if you can cooperate with the troubleshooting.
