At first i was able to add the camera using my account on my phone. Then updated the firmware. I removed the camera since i need to set it up for my mom  it was successful and i can access it on my acct and phone. Then i removed it. 

 

when i tried to find the network it cannot find the same network i used when i initially set it up. Even manually entering the credentials dont work. 
 

tried hard reset pf camera and modem but to no avail. Last resort would be connect it via LAN. But i am hoping i can connect it using wifi.

  @Toochikels I have a router with 2.4Hz and 5Hz options. However, until I turn off the 5Hz option, nothing which wants to run on 2.4Hz can see the router. If you have similar router, try switching off the 5Hz option and see if that improves things.

Hi,
If you have a problem setting up the Tapo camera, please refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot.
What should I do if I fail to configure Tapo Camera?
 

If the problem remains, please confirm the following information.
  1. Please ensure your Tapo app is up to date. You can try a different phone to set up the camera if you have one.
  2. What's the model number of your router?
  3. Can the camera detect other Wi-Fi networks when configuring it? Can you see the router's Wi-Fi on your phone?
  4. You can disable the special settings, such as Smart Connect, on your router and disable the 5G band on your router for a try.
  5. Please enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, factory reset the camera, configure it with another phone, connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi, and then check if you can set it up.
