I downloaded firmware 1.2.1 for my BE85 AU Ver 2 (Australian) model and its fine. I've done the same before... ignored the warnings about downloading from another countries site (France in this case) and ignored the other warning (I think its about the download site being dangerous).

** But its always good to double check here that it's ok to do the above... I think THERE ARE SOME EXCEPTIONS when country specific instructions must be followed and hardware revision warnings must be obeyed. **

i have 5 BE85 and 1 X50-outdoor

i downloaded firmwares from TP link France site which are 

1.2.1 for BE85

1.3..0 for X50-outdoor 

both are ok now , still dont see change from 1.2.0 for BE85 and 1.2.8 for X50-outdoor

but sure there are changes & improvements 

wonder why firmware update from Deco app is not the case anymore , just think about normal user , sure they have no idea how to update firmware manually .

as well as why workable updated firmwares which are  not available in all regions.

this is make Deco not user friendly as it intend to be anymore

I was informed that firmware 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 have removed the combined ethernet and wireless backhaul capability of BE85 which is the reason why my wifi speed is being capped now at gigabit. The combined backhaul capability is the reason why I bought this BE85 mesh and now it has been disabled.

I am sure this is being looked into by your engineers and we hope that TP Link can release the new firmware to reinstate this feature.

Please let us know what is the status of development of this combined backhaul to be able to be released to the public. Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Deco BE85 V1 and V2 share the same firmware download link. The 1.2.1 Build 20250731 Rel. 15505 works for both V1 and V2.

Deco BE85(EU) only has V1, and other region codes are V2.

 

You can find the IP address of the satellite Deco BE85 on the Deco APP and log into the individual web UI of this Deco. Can you upload the 1.2.1 version to the satellite Deco?

Thank you for the updates, but it seems Deco updates are becoming more and more confusing- I know you realize most 'home users' aren't on these boards or will ignore region warnings or update manually. The very disjointed rollout of these between EU, US and other territories is really frustrating. Most users will wait for the auto update in the app.

From what I understand, the BE85 1.2.1 shares one single version across all? But only in the 'global english' (actually EU?!) version has it been made available. Even your own link still shows 1.2.0 (which also goes to the intl site only even coming from the US board). I hope you see how confusing and not very reassuring this is.

The Decos are great HW! Hope the SW process is being addressed soon.

So, for US BE85 that already have 1.2.0. CAN we download the (EU!) version of 1.2.1 and ignore all the warnings, or should we wait?
