Hello!
My newly purchased camera says I have reached the live viewing limit and I can't change the resolution.
This is quite annoying that I paid for a 4K camera and it is limited to 720p without any prior notice.
The camera is connected via ethernet cable. There are 2pcs of them and 4pcs C520WS. The C520WS has never reported this, and always stream in 2K with the configuration below.
The cameras are configured with RTSP in HomeAssistant (Scrypted), so this is 2 views at the same time.
How can this be solved, what is the basis for limiting the viewing of the new type of camera? Why it wouldn't noticed the customer? This is a lie sales methoad with this restriction. Please fix this.

Another note, both C560WS not able to work on rtsp/stream1 (High Quality stream). Only work with /stream2.

Hi,
For the reported phenomenon, the following instructions will help.
What to do if the Tapo app reports "You've reached your device limit for playing this video"

Tapo cameras support up to 2 high-resolution and 2 low-resolution view streams simultaneously. If you are unable to stream the camera at high resolution, please check whether the Tapo C560WS enjoys the Tapo Care service and whether another device is streaming it at high resolution.

Best Regards

You've missunderstand i've think the issue.
The application doesn't said you have device limit. Tha application said stream limit, and can't change resolution.
I've disabled all of the SmartHome acsesses, and the cameras write the same alert. So in nutshell, if you stream only from Tapo app, you also can't view in 4K.
Also the important part, you can't stream in 4K from RTSP also!!! /Stream1 is not working, only /Stream2.
This is not a FAQ issue.

Hi,
Thank you for the notice.

If you see the live stream limit prompt in the Tapo app and click on YES/CONTINUE, the live stream resumes. You can refer to the instructions below to learn why you see this prompt.
Why can't I view the live stream of the Tapo camera continuously?

For the phenomenon that you can't change the resolution, please try the following steps and confirm the relevant information.
  1. On the Tapoc C560WS's Device Settings > Advanced Settings > Camera Account page, please turn off this option.
  2. Reboot the camera. Wait for two minutes.
  3. Ensure no other devices are streaming the camera, log in to the Tapo app on your phone, go to the camera's Device Settings > Video & Display > Video Quality page, select 4K resolution. Then go back to the camera's Live View page. Can you stream the camera at high resolution?
  4. Does the Tapo C560WS enjoy the Tapo Care service? You can send me (@Solla-topee) the camera's MAC address via a private message for checking.

Best Regards

Why can't I view the live stream of the Tapo camera continuously?

---- No continue button, only a promt bubble, and automaticly revert back to 720p----

---- Not turned off the thir party account, but after a full restart, the issue is solved, again can view the stream in 4K, with the same configuration before----
  4. Does the Tapo C560WS enjoy the Tapo Care service? You can send me (@Solla-topee) the camera's MAC address via a private message for checking.
---- No it's a free account----

By the way, because it's solved thats a good news with restart, but i've think i've noticed some kind of FW bug because of this. As i mentioned same settings, and einvorment the C520WS never show this issue until years now. I hope it's not will be happen again with C560WS. And now the /stream1 is again avalivable. So, in nutshell, something wrong with that /stream1 channel until full power restart.

Hi,
Thank you for your update.
In your situation, it's suggested to continue monitoring the C560WS, and please send us a picture of the live stream limit prompt bubble if the same phenomenon occurs for further analysis.
Best Regards
