Model: Tapo C210
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

When i set up my first camera i updated it and everything seemed fine and dandy. couple of days later my landlord tells me that the internet provider called and said the router is overloaded. I suspected the camera but didn't find much on the internet about the camera being a problem but i lowered the quality just in case. It seemed to be okay and back to normal so i forgot the topic completely.

Now i got another one of those and the same thing happened, few days after setup landlord lost connection to internet and was notified that the router overloaded. What seems to be the problem exactly?

Hi,
The amount of data/bandwidth your camera consumes depends mainly on the video resolution and how long you stream live video or upload clips to the cloud. Your camera's daily data usage varies. For example, if you don't subscribe to the Tapo Care service to store detection video clips on our cloud server and only view the camera's live feed occasionally, this won't consume much data/bandwidth.
Note: Streaming the camera's live feed on the local network won't use the internet data.

If the router to which the camera is connected has a traffic monitoring function that displays real-time bandwidth usage for each device. You might be able to use this function to determine which device is using the most bandwidth.

Best Regards
