Tapo C520WS: 2-3 Second Lag/Delay on EZVIZ NVR (Fine in Tapo App)
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some troubleshooting help with my Tapo C520WS.
I’m experiencing a consistent 2 to 3-second delay on both the live stream and recordings when viewing through my EZVIZ NVR. Interestingly, the feed is near-instant and works perfectly when viewing directly through the Tapo App.
My Setup:
• Camera: Tapo C520WS (Firmware is up to date).
• NVR: EZVIZ [CS- X5S - R100-4W].
• Connection: Onvif protocol.
• Network: Both are on the same local network (NVR is hardwired).
What I’ve noticed:
1. The lag is strictly on the NVR side.
2. If I move in front of the camera, the Tapo app shows it immediately, but the NVR monitor lags significantly behind.
3. Lowering the resolution in the Tapo app doesn't seem to eliminate the NVR latency.
Questions:
• Are there specific Onvif settings (like Encoding or Bitrate type) that I should adjust to make the stream more "NVR-friendly"?
• Does the C520WS require a specific i-Frame interval or H.264/H.265 setting to sync better with third-party NVRs?
• Has anyone else dealt with lag specifically between Tapo and EZVIZ hardware?
Any advice on how to reduce this latency would be greatly appreciated!
