Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.16

Hi.

From time to time, the camera does not allow me to view in live mode through the rtsp protocol, giving the error:

"

live555 error: SETUP of'video/H264' failed 406 Not Acceptable

live555 error: SETUP of'audio/PCMA' failed liveMedia5

live555 error: Nothing to play for rtsp://192.168.2.200:554/stream1

satip error: Failed to setup RTSP session

"

This log is from VLC but I got the same from Homeassistant.

Only after a camera restart, this error go away.... until came again!

It's possible that this is a firmware bug?

@branquinho I have seen the same issue.  It appears that this is due to the number of connection to the device.  If I have more than 2 rtsp feeds going, I receive the 406 error.

Is anyone from TP-Link able to confirm the maximum number of RTSP connections this camera can support?

@branquinho

If rtsp streaming does not work, you could also try the low quality stream like stream 2.

If the rtsp has worked fine before, you could try to reboot or factory reset on the tapo camera.

The error can have a specific meaning based on the app itself ,  it is suggested checking with some community of the RTSP or ONVIF apps and see if there are interpretations or suggestions.

Good day.  @Antharian

Thanks for sharing the insights. Ideally, it is recommended to keep 2 video streams on the camera , including both RTSP streaming and Tapo app live-streaming.

Here is related QA in part3:

Q3.3 Can multiple accounts/devices view the Tapo camera at the same time?
