All Tapo Cameras with the Static IP option

Phenomenon Description:

After being associated with a third-party NVR/NAS/ONVIF client via RTSP/Onvif protocol, the camera will automatically enable the static IP option on it's Device Settings > Advanced Settings > Network Settings page, even if the Static IP option has been manually disabled.

Workaround:

1. Why my Tapo camera will automatically enable the Static IP option

The benefit of this working mechanism is that it ensures your camera's address in the network remains constant, making it convenient to associate with third-party services via RTSP/Onvif. For example, in scenarios like power outages causing the router to reboot, the camera will continue using the same IP, allowing third-party services to maintain the previous configurations without frequent updates.
However, this working mechanism may also have some drawbacks. We will optimize this functionality in future firmware versions to allow Static IP and third-party associations to be set independently.

2. Some Tapo cameras, such as Tapo C500 V1, TC40 V1, and Tapo C325WB V1 won't enable the Static IP option automatically after updating to the latest firmware.

3. If you have other camera models and do not want the camera's Static IP option to be automatically enabled when associating with third-party services via RTSP/Onvif. We recommend sending an email to the forum support team with the following information for further assistance.
