Model: Tapo C120
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1

I have a few Tapo C120 cameras, and have been using one positioned at the front of the house essentially as a doorbell, setting the AI person detection to trigger a notification, which in-turn sends a "Person detected at the front door" notification to the Google Home speakers we have throughout the house.

I recently purchased the H500 hub, which has allowed me greater storage for recordings, and therefore changed the recording schedule to include all motion, unfortunately the motion detection sends a notification to the Google Home devices, even though the notification option is not enabled for "motion" only "person", it's working as intended and not sending a notification to my phone.

  @speedyb

Hi,
The current situation is that the Tapo camera sends detected events to our cloud server, and our cloud server then forwards the detected events to the Google/Alexa cloud servers. Our cloud server subsequently pushes the corresponding event notifications to the Tapo app based on the camera's notification settings. However, we do not have control over how notifications are sent from the Google/Alexa cloud servers, which is related to the settings in the Google Home/Alexa app.
Best Regards

Hi,
With the Notification settings you configured on your camera, you will only receive person notifications on your Tapo app and your phone that has the Tapo app installed.
However, the Notification settings on the Tapo app can't control the Google/Alexa device's notification feature. It's suggested to contact Google/Alexa support to know how to set the relevant notification settings on the Google Home/Alexa app.
Best Regards

@Solla-topee Thank you for the reply.

Essentially the cameras send only what you've asked for to the app/phone (e.g. just pets, for example) however ALL detections to Google/Amazon regardless of the app settings?, then it's up to Google/Amazon to determine what to do with it?

Unfortunately the Google and Alexa sides of things only feature a toggle for on/off. I'll see if I can come up with an alternative solution using smart actions / automation :)
