Model: Tapo C560WS
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: Latest

Just received my C560WS today and the lagging in 4k is horrendous.  If the camera pans / tracks the video stops completely during the capture.  Both locally onto SD or to the Tapo cloud

with it connecting over 5ghz I was expecting it to be able to cope but only dropping the resolution down to HD seems to improve it

Do other users of this camera have the same experience?

im using ubiquiti network and its connected at 400mbps with 64db signal.  The problem seems to be a lack of processing power

Hi,
1. You can refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot when you can't view the camera properly.
What should I do if I can't view the Tapo camera?

2. The -64 dBm RSSI value is not a good signal strength. It's recommended to move the camera closer to the router to achieve a good signal strength, and then see if the reported phenomenon improves.

3. Please ensure the camera is powered by the original power adapter and cord that come with it in the box.

Best Regards

Hi, thank you for the reply,

1. yes, been through all the troubleshooting steps, except reducing the resolution, I didn't buy a 4k camera to run at 1080p

2. can't move the camera, but connected it to a different AP to get -30db

3. yes, original power supply used

The only thing that has made a difference is enabling uPNP, but not sure why that would affect performance on direct connections

Hi,
The UPnP feature can help make the camera video stream smoother. In your situation, if you can stream the camera smoothly after enabling the UPnP feature on the camera and your router, it's suggested to keep this feature enabled.
Best Regards

Hi,
Please confirm the following information about the reported phenomenon.

  1. With the 4K resolution, does your Tapo C560WS's Live View page freeze when you pan the camera and when the camera tracks events?
  2. Is the camera connected to your router's Wi-Fi directly? On the camera's Device Settings > Device Info page, please tap the Wi-Fi icon and check the RSSI value.
  3. Will selecting a lower resolution or enabling the UPnP feature on the camera improve the camera's performance?

Best Regards

The camera is connected via Wi-Fi, and the issue occurs in all resolutions — 4K, Auto, and 720p. When recording an event, the video is choppy, and many frames are skipped, sometimes for several seconds, which is unacceptable. I have other Tapo models that work perfectly, except for these two C560WS units.
