Model: TC82
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.24

Camera has been installed hanging, and using the side mount screw for better stability, as opposed to the rear mount which I found wobbles in the wind.

However, unlike my other Tapo cameras, there's no option in the display settings to invert image. Therefore, I'm looking at an upside-down live and recorded feed.

Is there a firmware update coming to correct this?

Seems odd that it doesn't already allow this option considering it's the newest version of all the Tapo cameras I own.

Hi,
Below are the instructions to install the Tapo battery-powered cameras.
How to Install and Configure Battery-Powered Cameras for Optimal Detection Performance

It's not suggested to install the battery-powered cameras inverted, as the two PIR sensors' detection range will be compressed, leading to potential missed detection events. And there is also no Invert Image option on the battery-powered cameras.

Best Regards

Thanks. At least I know the customer can't use their device the way they might want to.

I installed it as per the instructions, and because it was loaded too heavily, it tore the mount from the backing, fell to the ground, and now the front is damaged.

What a complete waste of money, and all because of poor design strategy and limited product support.

Hi,
Typically, if you follow the instructions in the QIG to mount the camera, it won't fall to the ground. You may contact your retailer or the local support team with the pictures of the camera and the mount location to confirm if the camera is under warranty.
Best Regards
