Moderator Note:
1. The availability of EasyMesh in AP Mode may vary by region even for the same model. Please check your local website for more information.
2. The above list might not include all models and hardware versions. It is recommended to keep watching the firmware releases for your router, as all the newly supported features will be listed in the patch notes if/when it is added to your version.
User Scenarios:
Some users would prefer to, or are limited by their devices to, have their main modem router acting as the gateway and DHCP server in the network, which requires using the TP-Link Wi-Fi router in AP (Access Point) Mode to avoid the double-NAT issue. However, they also wish to utilize the EasyMesh feature of the TP-Link Wi-Fi router to create a mesh network with other EasyMesh routers or extenders.
The topology is roughly as follows (Topo 1):
Or as this one (Topo 2):
Note: In this topo, both the EasyMesh Wi-Fi router and the satellite router/extender must support EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul.
You may also connect the EasyMesh Wi-Fi routers like below, it will also work (Topo 3):
Note: In this topo, the EasyMesh Wi-Fi router and the satellite router/extender must also support EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul.

@Bit1011 Thank you for the link.
Archer C20 V6.2 supports EasyMesh, and it appears confusing that it will not display the specific hardware version if you go to the specification site directly.
If you choose V5, and then go to the specifications page, it will not show EasyMesh:
I'll report it to the website admin to optimize the display. Sorry for the confusing info. :-(

Hi,
In order to have this feature you need firmware version "1.14.0 Build 240617 and newer", as stated in the first post of this thread.
1.14.0 Build 240617 can be downloaded via this page https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/676858.

I have a copule of devices Ax73 and Ax72 in Ap mode also. And got a little bit problem for mesh. So when ax73 support create mesh in AP mode?
I read that ax72 is supported, so can I use ax72 as a main router in Ap mode and make a connect with az73?
I did it with draytek as gateway and Arche c64. I use c64 as main router in ap mode and connect ax73 as a satellite but its really lag and disconnect a lot of with ping is high

Hi,
According to the first post of this thread the "Archer AX72(US)_V2.0" supports EasyMesh in AP Mode.
So, if you happen to own that specific version of the AX72, then you can use the AX72 as a main router in AP mode and connect the AX73 to it as satellite.

That appears to be a firmware version of the model Archer AX72 V1.0. This would mean you can't use EasyMesh in AP Mode yet.
By the way, if you are unsure about the hardware version your router, then grab it with both hands and flip it over so that you can look at its underside. Check what is stated on the white serial number label. For example, "Archer AX72(US) Ver:2.0".

In my case, in topology 3, both the "EasyMesh Wi-Fi router" and the "satellite router/extender" are AX58 V2 devices.
I would like the "satellite router/extender" (also an AX58 V2) to operate as a Wi-Fi access point. Therefore, should it also be configured in AP mode, just like the EasyMesh Wi-Fi router?

@davidperrin1 AX58 V2 doesn't support EasyMesh when working in AP Mode.
If you would like to connect both AX58 V2 to the main router via cable, it's suggested to configure both in AP Mode.
