Update on May 8, 2026: 
 
The official version for Deco BE85 V1/V2 has been released publicly. Users can check for updates via the Deco's web interface or through the Deco App to install the latest version manually.

How to Update TP-Link Deco Firmware

If you cannot find the latest version, please download the firmware from the official website and upgrade it manually:
Deco BE85_V1_1.2.1 Build 20250731

  @David-TP thanks for this.

 

I have reverted to 1.1.2 from 1.1.3, as 1.1.3 was too buggy for me especially with my setup of a mixed wired and wireless backhauls.

 

Should I upgrade to 1.1.3 first then 1.2.0, or can I upgrade straight to 1.2.0?

6Ghz is definitely better with my Sansung Galaxy Book 4 Edge.

In the other thread just yesterday, you mentioned the final release was a few weeks out?

 

Edit: Nevermind, I see this is a pre-release.

Currently, there hasn't been a specific release date. If there is, I'll keep the community updated as soon as possible.

Hi, nice to see you again.

The "Connection Preference" feature should always be available under "IoT network".  

While there was occasional feedback that smart home devices didn't always connect to the preferred Deco before. The 1.2.0 version has further optimized its roaming strategy.

I think it will improve the IoT network performance.

  @David-TP  hi David 

after half day with new firmware , i can feel network performance is better , 

- i enable iot network back 
- iot devices now connect to preferred deco
- iot network access internet as fast as main network before witn 1.1.3 it's super slow almost cant not access to internet when use iot network
- i have about 70 devices on the network on 1.1.3 number of connected device swing around 62-68 very low chance to get all 70 connected , but with new 1.2 70 deviced connected quite there sometimes 68 but not often.
- no wifi backhaul shown on deco map anymore at deco which has ethernet backhaul
- be85 wifi backhaul use both 5ghz and 6ghz on hight capacity mode

But in some spot with my mobile phone, when i move around in my house, phone roam to stronger wifi deco as it should but suddenly internet cant access, need to go to phone wifi setting and on/off wifi and then seem phone connect to weaker deco and then internet is back.  this is sofar only one issue im seeing , 1.1.3 had the same this issue

i also do want to know if i should enable beam forming or not ?

Can I have the model number of your mobile phone?

(I saw Xiaomi 15 Pro was mentioned in the previous discussion. Was it the mobile phone here?)

Can the following issue be easily reproduced?
