Accepted Possibility to change WiFi channels
There should be a way to change WiFi channel, or at least the system should change it by itself, choosing the least saturated one. For 2.4GHz it is clear that it will be almost impossible to select a free channel, but on the 5GHz I only see other 2 networks and we are all in the same channel! For at least one the reason may be that our neighboor is using a TP-Link product as well.
I think this is a very basic configuration in any WiFi device, which I would have never though was not going to be possible before buying it.

Hello, good day.
This feedback has been forwarded to our R&D department.
Meanwhile, theoretically, the Deco will choose a wireless channel with best performance automatically.
Regarding to your case, with the same channel occupied by other wireless devices, what about the actual performance of the wireless? Like the stability and speed?

what is the status of this enhancement? Is there an ETA? Please advise.

Hi, Lenny, sorry to tell you that there is no update yet, to be honest, it will take some before it came publicly.
Please kindly wait for our new firmware for the Deco units.
Have a nice day.

I have a Deco M4 x 3 mesh system and the possibility to configure which channel to use is badly needed since it seems that the Deco M4 doesn't pick the best channel, at least not for 5 GHz band. For 2.4 GHz it seems to work ok. There it picks an empty channel but for the 5 GHz band it always uses channel 36 which in my case is also used by a neighbour, probably having a similar mesh system as well. The result is that when looking at sreaming videos they freeze for a short while every now and then which is very irritating.
So please prioritize the possibility to manually select channels or at least make the automatic selection for the 5 GHz band work as it was supposed to.

Good day.
I have the same problem with M5 - latest firmware - on 5GHz, choosing a 90% congested channel.

Seems My Deco M4 is also always on Channel-10 on 2.4Ghz and on channel 36 on 5Ghz.
I'm facing very bad stability issues on my smart TV (LG) my Bose Soundtouch 300 speaker and on some mobile devices.
This is a pretty basic feature available on older models of TP-Link Wifi Routers - extremely painfuul this device does not support such basic stuff.
Frankly I'm starting to be sorry I got this solution instead of the old good WiFi router.
Moving into a new appartment in a couple of months and will connect the 2nd device (I have a 2-devices Mesh set) - will see how it works there.
Please do enable this feature ASAP.
Thanks ahead!

I'd really like to know what the real issue behind this flaw is. The first item in this thread was posted over a year ago and still no solution in sight! Only vague comments on that work is going on etc.
I can't see it should be that much of a problem to fix from a software point of view, something that has made me start to wonder if it's a hardware issue instead. Maybe the possibility to work on different channels was never included in the hardware design??? Then I guess we can forget about any future fix to this issue altogether.
So please come up with an explanation why this problem seems so impossible to fix!
