Some of the Tapo C200 Cameras Keep Disconnecting from Home Wifi and appears to be Offline
Hi
I have 4 tapo C200 cameras installed in my home. All of them have been updated with the latest firmware 1.0.17. I am using Singtel Mesh router with Mesh nodes in all the rooms. Wifi connection are pretty stable in the entire house. There is one standardize SSID which is used for all the 4 cameras and the entire house. I realise that after a few hours, 1 or 2 cameras seems to be suddenly disconnected and appear offline. I have to manually power off and on the camera switch to let it reboot and then it gets connected back to the wifi network again. Can you advise what should I do so that all my 4 cameras will be online 24/7? My mesh router is dual band. Does turning off 5Ghz helps since the cameras can only support 2.4Ghz? Should I use Dynamic or Static IP address? Any router config to prevent disconnection?
Appreciate your help.
Thanks
Kc

Exact same issue here. Using a Ubiquiti Mesh System with multiple APs.
got the cameras delivered today. Wanted to use them to check my cat, because we have some stranger caring for her during the holidays.
cameras are working fine, apart from the disconnects - which obviously is a deal breaker.
issue has been reported here 1.5 years ago, and still not fixed...?!
I'll return the cameras and order something proper.
it's not an option for me to disable meshing or 5 GHz.
what a shame, TP Link.

Hello, thank you for your feedback.
there isn't any known issue with Unifi or Ubiquiti Mesh, please make sure you tried some suggestions on #27 posted, can you help provide some information requested there to help analyzer the issue, like the Camera Led/ camera Signal strength, or log we will help look into the concern and try to fix it, thank you.

@Solla-topee I have just updated the firmware for my C200. I haven't seen the problem happen again yet.
I'll keep an eye on it and I'll post again if the problem keeps happening.

@Solla-topee Sorry, I spoke too soon. The camera is still disconnecting from wifi.
I have tried all of the suggestions in the linked message.
I already had enabled the diagnose log, so I will send that in a new support request.

I have pretty much the same issue after updating last night with the new firmware..
Purchased the camera a week ago and after the firmware update I'm getting disconnects... Reset multiple times and works for a few mins and then goes offline.. I appreciate the effort tp-link support are suggesting, however disabling router features defeats the point.. I'm pretty sure it's the update that is causing the issue here.

This is a firmware issue. When wifi connection is lost, the device will be permanently offline until power is cycled. No Tapo-brand product will reconnect to a wifi network once connection is lost.
The solution, is to use a Kasa-plug between the wall outlet and the Tapo camera. The Kasa-plugs DO reconnect to wifi, so you just gotta use the Kasa app to power cycle the Tapo camera and you're good.
