This Feature Request board was created for users to leave feedback, ideas, and suggestions regarding Tapo products.
How to submit a Feature Request?
- You are suggested to view all of the existing ideas first to join the discussion, upvote, or add kudos for great ideas instead of posting a duplicate. If you don't see your idea, you can submit it by clicking Start a New Thread.
- When posting a new thread to share your ideas, please keep your ideas constructive and provide as much detail as you can. It will be perfect if you can explain how do you want to use a feature with a practical example, or how a suggestion would help or resolve a problem for you. That helps us have a better understanding of the need behind the suggestions., and it's then available for other members of the community to browse and vote on.
What could affect the implementation?
TP-Link values all the ideas and feedback for our products. Ideas with the most kudos or upvotes will always warrant the most attention from the decision makers. We will also take note of those explicitly requested and "Good Ideas", and surely bring them forwards to the decision makers. They would incorporate our customer feedback together with other factors like product vision and roadmap, market research, development resources, and more when deciding which features to build and how to prioritize them. Most of the time, support can’t guarantee the implementation of a feature and may not be able to provide a detailed plan or estimated date for that, thus we won't typically chime in on feature request discussions.
Stage of a Request
- Implemented. This means the feature has been added to the product category, or to the model (s) requested in that thread.
- Under Consideration. The feature has been brought forwards to the decision makers and has been planned. But please be aware that "Planned" or "Under Consideration" is not a guarantee, and TP-Link reserves the right to modify this stage at any time without notifying the poster or follower in the thread.
- Future Consideration. The feature hasn't been yet brought forwards to the decision makers, but that is a good idea from a customer's point of view, we will do more market research then decide if this can be brought to the requested model.
- Declined. Request has been declined and refused by the decision makers.
As always, TP-Link appreciates your feedback and participation. You are what makes this Community great!

I strongly recommend the addition of a crucial feature to your camera product: a notification alert when the camera powers off.
This feature is not just a convenience but a necessity for users like myself who rely on your camera for personal security and monitoring. Knowing immediately when the camera shuts down—whether due to a power failure, manual shutdown, or any other reason—is critical for maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the monitoring system.
I believe this enhancement is essential to ensuring that your product continues to meet the high standards expected by your users.

@Solla-topee how about advanced car detection like USPS, FedEx, UPS, Amazon, basically all the major shippers. I don't care for other cars but mainly want to get alerted if those specific cars pass by.

@Chaftun agree ... any status change would be great ... power off (may be dificult if the hardware is doing the notification. Maybe a hub could handle this). Privacy mode, disabling the camera, removing the camera, changing settings etc. This would all be important to detect tampering and / or hacking.

I'm in the process of replacing other brands of cameras (specifically eufy) for the TAPO platform which IMHO is superior especially when it comes to AI. I do have some suggestions. Let me start by stating that i am attempting to remove bias (what im use to). However, there are some simple user expereince improvements that would improve the TAPO platform. I'm also coming at this from purely a camera perspective as I dont have any other TAPO devices.
1. Home tab: Why cant we show a thumbnail image for cameras?
2. Camera tab: I like the ability to start playing a stream but it seems odd to have to click "manage" to view the live stream in non-thumbnail. Seems like it would make more sense to just click on the image to view full size and remove the "manage" button.
3. Multi Camera View: Its odd that i have to go to one camera to set up and view multiple cameras. Would be nice to have a home / camera tab + button to add multi view setups.
4. I love the ability to swipe between cameras. However, it would also be nice to be able to automatically switch between cameras like a lot of NVRs do. Or ... be able to switch between cameras based on motion.
5. Image adjustments ... seems like a lot of newer cameras dont support picture adjustments. I've noticed the color on the TAPO cameras is a bit washed out. If we had simple brightness, contrast, saturation and hue adjustments that would be awesome sauce.
6. I'm into efficiency. So, clicking camera tab, clicking manage, then hiding the interface just to get to a full screen image is a bit inefficient. Most of us just want to click on a camera and see it full screen. With TAPO its just to many clicks / taps.
So, home tab camera images, the weird manage button to view full screen, saving multi camera views, auto cycling views, image adjustments, and 1 click to view full screen would be fantastic improvements to what appears to be a great platform. Cant wait to get the additional cameras i ordered in. Cant wait to retire my "other" brand of cameras.
Thanks,
Kirk

Lets add a smoke detector / alarm alert to the already great list of sound alerts.
