C310 shows slowly flashing red light on installing with wireless connection
Wednesday
Model: Tapo C310
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Not known

C310 installs Ok with Ethernet connection: it even fprmats the Sd card Ok and can record. However, C310 shows slowly flashes red light on trying to install with wireless connection. C310 is not found by Bluetooth on either my Android tablet or Android phone. Tablet & phone do not see a WiFi Network for the C310.  Both phone, tablet & C310 are just a few feet from my router and in tyhe same room. Any ideas anybody?.

PS My TP-Link Archer C80 routrer's DHCP Server does not allocate an ip address which it does for my other devices e.g. computers, printer, phone, tablet. Is ther a parameter on my router which I have to set?

PPS I have tried resetting my C310 and starting again but same result.

Hi,
1. If you can't find the camera's default SSID "Tapo_Cam_XXXX" when configuring it and the LED is flashing red even if you have reset it, it's suggested to connect your camera to the router by an ethernet cable, set it up, and then remove the camera from the Tapo app to factory reset it, then check if the camera has a flashing red and green LED and if the default SSID appears.

2. If the camera has a flashing green and red LED after factory reset and the default SSID appears, it's suggested to enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, configure the camera with another phone, connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi and check if the camera will work.

Best Regards

Hi,

I'm not an AI.
1. According to the information you provided, if your phone cannot see the default SSID of the Tapo C310 and the app cannot find the camera during the configuration process, it may be the camera has not been reset successfully. You mentioned that you have tried to reset the camera, I think it was done via the reset button but failed, so I suggest configuring the camera through a wired connection and then deleting the camera from the Tapo app to factory reset it.

You can judge if the camera is reset successfully by the LED status and if you can see the default SSID.

2. Since you have tried connecting the camera to the router's Wi-Fi before but failed, it is recommended to connect the camera to other Wi-Fi networks for comparison.

If you need further assistance, please feel free to let me know your test results.

Best Regards

@JohnRose I;ve done all of that on my C310 camera and no change when I try Wireless 'mode'. I'm not able to do that on myTC70 camera as it does not have an ethernet socket.

@Solla-topee Apologies I made a mistake on my last post & used my 'handle' rather than yours.

Hi,
Just double-confirm, is the LED flashing green and red on the Tapo C310 after factory resetting it by using the reset button or removing it from the Tapo app? And can you see the default SSID of the camera after resetting it?
Best Regards

@Solla-topee  Camera never does anything but slowly flashing red. SSID for camera never shown on Android tablet or phone.

Hi,
If the camera does not respond to the reset operation, please refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot.
What to do if my Tapo Camera gets bricked after a firmware update?

If the problem remains, you can contact your retailer or local team to check if the camera is under warranty.

Best Regards
