Model: Tapo C530WS
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.2

The camera doesn't switch to night vision mode automatically.

It is on a street, so there is some light on the road because of streetlights, it only seems to switch to night mode really late at night by that time it's too late, and it's almost day again.

I'm aware this is because the camera has a great camera sensor to capture as much light as possible.

However, this bug has been here a long time, it can be fixed allowing the user to set a set time to switch to night vision, or detect when sunsets and sunrises in the city the camera is registered in to determine the best time to switch to night vision, or maybe a slider to decrease the threshold required to switch to night vision.

This bug causes poor motion detection, as it's not the best at low light detection.

It would be great if this was fixed, as it's really quite annoying, my old C500 didn't struggle with changing to night vision,

  @Adamx

Hi,
When the camera's Video mode is set to Auto, it automatically switches between Day and night mode according to the ambient light. For example, when the ambient light is lower than the built-in threshold, the camera automatically switches to Night mode.

For your situation, we recommend adjusting the camera's installation position and angle as much as possible to reduce the impact of street lights on the camera.

Thank you very much for your feedback. You can vote and leave your usage scenario on the thread "Schedule day/night (IR) mode" for evaluation.

Best Regards

  @Solla-topee it's so bad on my C520WS. I voted in that thread, but you seem to neglect it. It's almost 3 years old and still not implemented. Give us slider for senstivitiy or time schedule option, please.
