  @Kevin_Z

Hello,

we are moving forward slowly, but I still do not see the Archer AX 58V1.
The V2 is present but not the V1.

Hi,

I know this isn't stated anywhere, but if you install the "Public Beta" firmware for the AX53 V1 that adds support for EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul, then you will also get OpenVPN Client, PPTP VPN Client, L2TP/IPSec VPN Client and WireGuard Client with it. I own this model myself.

Re:EasyMesh Routers Support Building a EasyMesh Network via Ethernet Backhaul NOW
2024-10-06 23:27:01

Hi there,

I have a big space that I need to cover with WiFi. I also have Ethernet all around for PC's and I need all of them to be under one network for the printer and other stuff.
In total 6 rooms,devide by a hallway (3 on one side, and 3 on the other - 3x2) and in every room there is a spare Ethernet cable. Also the main box will sit on one end of the hallway (tip A).

So I'll have one router and then a switch, but after that I'll need a mesh network for the WiFi as the space is big and with some thick walls (concrete and bricks).

So with the spare cables I can implement somekind of an Ethernet Backhaul Mesh.
Imagine an equilateral triangle with tips A, B, C. In tip A is the main router(AX73, AX53_V2, AX55 Pro) and a switch. From what I understand on tips B and C I have to put other routers (AX73 or AX53_V2) in orther for the Mesh to work, but as secondary routers.  So should I connect the secondary routers directly to the main router, or can I connect them throw the switch and still work. Also, will the mesh work if a WiFi device (phone/tablet) moves from the general area of tip B to tip C (without getting in the WiFi range of tip A), just like the Deco's work.

I previosly have set up Deco's in my relatives house, but without cables. I know I can't mix the Deco's Mesh and the Routeres EasyMesh systems, so it's eather one or the other. But the Deco's are around 50% more expensive and I might need more than 3. Also the routeres are powerfull, slimmer and can be wall mounted (better in my setup).

I'm oppened to any other suggestions on how to implement this.

Thanks!
