I recently purchased C210 & observed that if network isn't connected to internet then we can't use application , use pan tilt or any features and can't even watch saved videos offline on memory card!

 

I want to use and Oparate totally without internet and offline recording via sd card that's why I purchased it.

 

Any solution or any other brand that support total offline use without internet

Hi,
If you want to control the camera with the Tapo app even when the camera has no internet connection. You can try the following steps.
1. Refer to the following instructions to set up the camera and connect it to your router with an internet connection.
How to set up the Tapo camera
 

2. You can insert an SD card into the camera and configure the detection and storage settings.
How can I store the Tapo camera video recordings on a microSD card
 

3. After that, you can block the internet on your router for the camera or disconnect the internet from your router. Then the phones connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the camera can still control the camera, such as watching the camera's live feed, pan & tilt the camera, and watch the video recordings.

The camera's detection and storage feature will continue to work without an internet connection, however, other features that need an internet connection will no longer work, such as notification, remote control, etc.

Yes I can control it offline if both wifi is same.

 

But is there any way that I can control it with "single phone"??

I can enable hotspot and wifi both at same time in my redmi device.

 

Camara connects to my hotspot but it won't work without internet. I think tapo c210 also has inbuilt hotspot right?

 

So it is possible that we can connect mobile and camera both to same hotspot network so it can be controlled via single phone.

 

Please guide on that And also please solve my 2 issues.

 

1. I can't download "continues recording" full clip to memory as not option to download it Only detection clip of max 3 min can be downloaded

 

I don't want any detection so I disabled it and using continuous recoding 24×7 in settings to sd card It records continuously and save to card

but

 

I can't save/download that full footage in memory card. Which is must needed option so please give that option too

 

 

2. By following your step I can record without internet I kept LED off

 

But whenever I disconnect hotspot for offline record , light blinks continuously

 

So please fix this issue , as it alarms the person that camera is recording in my office which I don't want to. LED should be off fully if disabled Thanks in advance

Hi, 
1. The default SSID from the camera is used to configure the camera, and it will disappear if you have set up the camera successfully. It's unable to connect your phone to the camera's default SSID for management purposes.

 

2. Typically, if your phone and the camera are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, you can refer to the following instructions to download the video clips from the SD card, and the length of the video clip can be up to 10 minutes.

However, if you want to download all videos stored on the SD card, remove the SD card from the camera, connect it to your PC via an SD card adapter, and then back up the videos is an alternative option.

 

3. The LED on the camera will flash once it loses internet connection to notify the owner that the camera is disconnected from the internet, even if the Status LED option is disabled on the Tapo app. The camera is currently designed this way because it is not designed for offline usage scenarios.

 

I'll record your feature requests and forward them to the relevant team for evaluation. However, I don't have any specific details that I can share about whether these features can come to the product or when they might. Your understanding is highly appreciated!

Please see if any way to use SSID of camara for management purpose as it will be very helpful to many offline users

 

And please allow to shut LED completely even if it's offline otherwise

what is the meaning of disabling LED!!

As you know I'm offline user and it will work that way and led will blink whole day eventhough I disabled it

 

I am checking the suggestion of download clip z let's if it's works in C210 i just purchased..

Hi,
There is no way to use the camera's SSID for management purposes, and I think it's not the usage scenarios that were anticipated during its design. I will consider it as a feature feedback and forward it to the relevant team for evaluation, together with the function of turning off the LED completely.

This supports the feature to use direct connection without need of 2 phone to use in offline.

 

Even small CCTV company is giving this feature so why not TAPO?

It's inconvenient to use app everytime with need of 2 phone for hotspot and app set up in offline mode 

 

So please forward this to developer team and implement it at earliest

 

There are many (30-40%) users who are using tapo c210 of c200 CCTV only on offline mode with memory card option so don't neglect them while designing and set up of application!!

 

It's basic function and user friendly too

same problem, I can access my cameras on my main tapo account but added subusers can't access them while on the same wifi network without an active internet connection.

Your usage scenario seems different from the original post. Please note that the share camera feature is achieved based on the cloud service; if the camera has no internet connection, the shared account is unable to access the camera.
