The steps given do not work. This can only be fixed with a firmware update. When will there be an update to fix? Is tapo aware of the problem? Do they test their devices when they do firmware updates?

i have two c120's and two c121's.  The live audio feed has crackling/chirping sounds on all 4 cameras.

i have spent several hours trying to find the source of the crackling noise.

1) The problem goes away if I turn the microphone off.  But if I adjust the microphone setting as low as possible to 1 or 2%, the crackling sound returns. The crackling sound has the same volume at 1% as it has at 100%.  It makes no difference what the microphone volume is set at.

2) I set my iphone next to the camera and recorded sound (the room was completely quiet).  I set the camera to record all the time.  When I playback the camera video, the crackling sound is there.  When I play back the iphone recording, I hear nothing.

3) I also have a c260, c211 and c325wb camera, none of the have the problem.

4) I have two c121 and two c120 cameras.  All 4 cameras have the crackling sound and are placed in 4 different rooms.

5) As an experiment, I placed the c260 and c211 cameras next to a c121 so the microphones would hear the same sounds.  The c121 had the crackling sound in the playback.  The c260 and c211 did not.

6) Tried changing different camera settings (line frequency, night mode settings, tags off). Nothing helped.

7) Rebooting the cameras did not help.

8)  The crackling sound is relatively new. It did not used to be there.  I believe it started sometime in December.   IMO, this is a firmware issue.  My C120’s are on 1.43 firmware. My C121’s are on 1.41
